Unfortunately I don't have any good "after" pics, but here's a nice pic illustrating how bad it was "before":

Lol dude bring it to me I'll take care of it hahaha I wanna see your after lol

Anyways... here are the things I have learned.

1. Cleanliness is key. Make sure you use a good quality wash medium. I like to use microfiber wash pads that kind of look like these. They seem to hold water/suds really well.

http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-83-ad...-wash-pad.aspx

I also like to use the 2 bucket method + 2 Grit Guard inserts. One bucket is clean soap water. The other is rinse water. After "washing" each panel, I clean the washpad out in the rinse water to get rid of all the junk I took off the paint, and reintroduce a clean washpad back to the soap bucket.

2. Follow the directions of the soap. If you use too much soap, you can possibly strip the wax off the car, meaning no paint protection.

3. This is a little bit expensive, but a Gilmour Foammaster is a pretty nifty tool. You can pre-soak the car with foam/suds. It is nice to have and helps with lifting junk off the paint before you actually have to touch the paint. One can be hand from Amazon fairly inexpensively.

4. Lastly, you don't need to press hard on the washpad/mitt when you wash your car. Just the weight of the pad and move it across the paint. You can always come back over and do another pass if needed or use a clay bar.
Sounds like a similar process to what I do. lol

lol, still gotta detail your car even if it isn't driven (insect dropping, dust, etc) =P

lol, the Prius c you had wouldn't have been tough, but that NSX now probably has a bit of contamination on the paint. I think I'll be moving closer to where you are (never exactly know what city you live in), so I can probably meet up with you and examine the NSX after I move.

Oh, don't mention anything of me getting an FR-S and getting rid of the Yaris on Micro Image, Yaris World, or IG. haha. Not ready to have them flip out.

Ah, swirls, if you have a DA with the proper pads, I'll help you out with that. I think doing it by hand will be too exhausting. haha.

I'll be moving to Union City, not too far from Logan High School, by the end of next month.

I gotta find a buyer for my Work VS-XX when I get steelies. lol. That, and the rest of what ever I can part out on my car. Surprisingly, I have a buyer for my TRD RSB, Morimoto HIDs, eyelids, and Vios emblem already (same buyer). lol.

Ever since buying this car, my detailing supplies have dramatically increased ; but it helps since most of my fam's cars are black as well.

Practice before detailing my own.

Caked on water marks (bro's accord):

After clay bar, polish with Meguair's X, and waxed with Meguiar's NXT:

P.S. - Anyone know of an affordable shop that does mandrel bending? Just seeing what shops you guys are going to. Custom axle back coming soon.

Must have been super hard water since you used either Swirl X or Scratch X instead of just deep crystal polish. Good job on it.

Reminds me of when I got my Works:

That was after three passes of cleaning it. And after I was done clay barring and waxing it.

I spy a red Miata! That will be my next project in a few years, anything done to it?
