You know, aluminum is a metal. It's just non-ferrous.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I have been cheating on it with the F-150 of the PDR guy.

He did an amazing job on the car. The insurance adjuster wanted to replace the hood, trunk, one fender and to cut the roof panel out and replace it.

My PDR guy pulled all the dents out. The only thing that will need to be done is replace the aluminum hood which cannot be fixed and blend the paint on one fender because of a small crack.

Here's a before image of the fender.

And an after

Kind of. Let me see if this video link works.

If you can see the video, you can see the hood. The whole top of the car looked like that.

Keep going crazy with the vinyl cutter. Not a perfect job, but I'm pretty happy with the way things are turning out. Love some opinions.

Thanks guys!

I really hope Greddy is funding your car, otherwise that's all kinda silly. And that big wing screams for agressive wheels/tires. Stockers look really out of place there.

The vinyl cuts look goot, but nothing seems to flow together. Black/silver (or is that white? hard to tell in the light) on the hood, gold on the door and isn't the rear bumper one green? The amount of coverage on the hood is also a bit overkill, but I think the shapes could work if scaled down some, or at least continued elsewhere on the car.

Looks like you have the ability to make it really awesome if you pick a theme of some kind and stick with it. You can do some really cool thing with vinyl, especially being able to cut it yourself. Right now, though, it just looks like you're haphazardly throwing things at the car.

Finally hit the magic number (bought the car in early December). Got the oil changed yesterday and took her up to the powerband for the first time.

NOW I remember why I bought this thing! For the past few weeks I had been shopping replacement options, as the power under the 4k break-in ceiling is severely lacking. I hated driving it. Winding it out really wakes this car up. I'm still getting used to the lack of torque but hearing it scream at 6-7k is definitely intoxicating.

I don't get it… That's not even Greddy's font. Are you running exclusive Greddy parts or something? Looks really kinda tacky, bro. I used to plaster my Civic like that when I was in high school.

Who told you to go easy on it?! I'm baffled by this "under 4k RPM" break-in that people slave themselves to. Just drive the car! You're not modding it the first 1k miles and you still have your warranty. Let the car LEARN you with a proper break-in of driving your sports car!

Just make sure to do regular oil changes and you're good. It's 2014. These engines are good from the factory. Standards of build quality have risen since the 1970's.

Anyways, congrats! Welcome to the world!

Lol I wish GReddy was funding the car but I've just been playing around taking inspiration from the Forgestar Fr-S and the GReddy TRUST car.
Thank you for the comment by the way :-)

Super Deep 19" Forgestar F14s are going on soon, as well as the Rocket Bunny V1 kit. The rear bumper vinyl is also in gold. I see how it looked green with the light. Lol. Hopefully I can get the doors done up with a combo of gold/silver to help blend everything in. I'll keep posting so keep feeding the input.

Thanks again!

The owner's manual actually states to keep it under 4k for the first 1,000 miles. I'm sure the engine won't grenade itself if you don't, but it isn't an unreasonable request if it helps guarantee proper heat cycling/settling/etc. If I own this car past the warranty period, I want the engine to be in good shape to last as long as I choose to own it. Most people probably burn through the first 1,000 mi in a matter of a week or two; I just chose to buy a lightweight RWD coupe in the middle of Nebraska winter. lol.

In any case, it's game on now. First auto-x next weekend!
