Running from the police

OK so this is something I've always wondered since I was a kid. Let's say right now somehow impossibly my Frs could go from 0 to 200 mph in like 5 seconds. I evade the cops and go home. What I don't understand is, does that really mean the end of your troubles? I'm pretty sure it's a legal mandate that police officers must have dash cams active even on a routine traffic stop. I know all the OC sheriff's always have dash cams and cams on the police motorcycles. So why can't they just take ur plate on film and come arrest you at your house the next day? Like I just saw this video of a gtr just absolutely bounce from the cops but at some point isn't all of his info and registration on the police dashcam videos?
And side note no I do not plan on trying to shake any cops anytime soon, just curios.

hypothetical question -

if you had a UGR TT Gallardo, you're in a long stretch of road, and you know there's no radio connection in that area. A cop turns on their lights to pull you over, they didn't get a good look at your plate. Would you make a run for it?

Policemen don't seem to like being recorded (audio or video). Depends on whether or not they tampered with the camera. The LAPD don't seem to have any problem with tampering with the mic:

http://ktla.com/2014/04/08/lapd-offi...#axzz2yxi2Z2Wj

"An inspection by Los Angeles Police Department investigators found about half of the estimated 80 cars in one South L.A. patrol division were missing antennas, which help capture what officers say in the field. The antennas in at least 10 more cars in nearby divisions had also been removed.

LAPD Chief Charlie Beck and other top officials learned of the problem last summer but chose not to investigate which officers were responsible."

I've seen police individuals and organizations in articles nationwide complaining a lot about the mics and cams. Both require them to follow the law - which, ironically, a lot of them seem to not want to do.

The guy who bought one of my dirt bikes yesterday has a Yamaha R6. He said the police never bother to chase him because it's too much work. In one incident he bragged about going 100mph in a 15mph zone right past an officer.

And that GTR is running dealer plates. There is nothing they could do in this situation. When they pulled him over, my guess is that he waited until they came to a complete stop and just took off.

Busted for street racing is SERIOUS business. His car would have been impounded, he would have been put in jail and fined. Not saying that I would encourage what he did, but in this case, it worked. This is not the only video of GTR's running.

I'm on the GTR forums as well (looking to buy one in the next couple years), and they posted a couple stories like this when this video was posted there

Someone i know....

has done this, on a bike, and nothing happened, just like @robwbright said. A liter bike, mostly, is way to fast for an interceptor, charger, etc. to catch up to. Even the new Honda's the popo are riding are laggy.

That being said, this person, my friend, would never ever do it again. This is another one of those things where its "pay to play"

Committing a felony is better? Gtr's are super rare contact the dealer find out who bought it. The have his face on the race video. Go to his house, there is the car. Put together with his face on the video you can get an arrest warrant.

But seeing how easy the cops gave up if looks like things work different than smaller communities. We submit warrants on people when they run and we have to call the pursuit off due to public safety.

In the OPs other question. The camera system should be weird to start recording as soon as the overhead lights are activated. The system is recording at all times and saves 2-5minutes Prior to the stop. I know you can turn them off, press Stop as soon as it activates, or the system is broke (very common). The older watch guard systems are so low quality it is hard to make out a license plate. The new systems at hd and very good quality. Sorry to get side tracked.

lol, you need to relax! HAHA! Once again, I would never encourage someone to do this. I personally think it is stupid, but I understand why he would do it.
