2014 BRZ Owners (maybe '13?) - Question on Pricing

Hi everyone, I apologize if this thread has been made before, but it was hard to find some solid information regarding the Canadian market for the BRZ.

I'm looking to purchase this car and I am trying to utilize some due diligence to make sure that I don't get ripped off. IF a post regarding this matter has been made previously (I tried searching to no avail) please forgive me!

My question is how much did you pay for your BRZ? I plan on financing. How much were you able to bargain down? How do I know if I am getting ripped off?

I've been to two different dealers and they are quoting me (AT) at $36k and $37k after taxes, PDI, freight, etc. I know the MSRP is $30,495 (AT) and $29,295 (MT). This is for the sports-tech edition.

This will be my first car that I personally own so a little guidance will go a long way for me.

Thank you all very much!

Hey buddy, got mine two weeks ago. I decided on a 2013 Sport tech for the only reason that they were offering 60 months@0.5% and that other than 2 new colours and the really bad Navigation from the US, nothing had changed. I was able to get a 1400 discount + factory 500 on the car and a couple of accessory, plus a great price for my trade... 37K seems high to me, especially after taxes since I though Quebec had the highest taxes in Canada at 15% and my BRZ came at around 34.5K after rebates.... Definitely try to haggle, especially on a '13 if you don't mind the year.. Keep us informed !

I was out the door with all fees and taxes for 34,925.21 at the end of Sept on my 2014 sport tech. No trade in but I put 4,925 down and got 1.9% for 24 months. PM for any further details.

Wow, that is the best deal that I've ever seen. I'm surprise you're holding back!

Haha, I see it now. I think you need to reach a min. of 10 posts before you can start thanking. As far as waiting list goes, nope. Not that I know of. Two of the dealers were ready to sell cars waiting for me in the lot! May I ask how much you paid for your FRS as well?

when i was buying i couldn't even find a brz to test it, and was told that a shipment was coming in couple of weeks........couldn't wait that long

for the frs i paid the msrp

.....oh, i did get the white pearl free of charge lol

i was trading in a 5 month old car, so my situation was not normal......people in their right mind don't make shitty decisions like that .....so i was trying to get as much as i can for the trade in while the frs was kept at msrp

still hurts that i made a horrible decision, and lost money, but that all goes away when i'm driving the frs

When I got my BRZ it was the only 6MT available in all of GTA and it was one of the first 2014 units. I wanted a 2013 because of the pretty looking Pioneer headunit but I was like 3 days late walking into the dealer as they sold it already. So I paid MSRP. Ugh!

Now I see at least 2 or 3 in any Subaru dealership but mostly blue or white (again the two colors I originally wanted UGH!!).

I'm leasing mine (2013, black, basic pkg) for 3 yrs, 20k per year at $375/mo at 0.9%. On the paperwork from the dealer, this is based on a value of $27,500. I got it in early November 2013 (mfg in June 2013).

There was no benefit for me to take a '14 model because the lease rate was something like 3.9% vs. 0.9%... only regret is not taking the sport-tech pkg but I hate the spoiler so that was the tradeoff and I'm cool with it.
