Any recommendations @FT-86 SpeedFactory
The car will have great gains without a tune as the Dyno plot I think in the first post shows. You will see even more gains with a Tune. Our tuner Graham can get you set up with a stage 2 tune that works very well with this header. He's one of the best out there.

I've got a question. Will this header develop stress cracks over time due to no flex joints?

It shouldn't. Also has lifetime warranty for the original owner against cracking.

What all do I need to make this happen? Can it be done with a flash etc. or do I need the hardware and license?

You need a cable and license to even do a flash. So what you will need is a cable, license, and stage 2 tune. This will run you around $800.

Since my header will be showing up soon, I was going to see if I could give you guys a fairly detailed before/after the install, before/after a tune with ~500 miles clocked on the header, and also show AFR's before the tune and after the tune (at the ~500 mile mark).
Any specific sound bits I should try to pick up?
Will the tuner be able to show me the AFR values upon request if I don't have my own method of reading it?

Here is a quick video of my current exhaust setup that I made for another thread.

If you use ecutek, you can log the afrs to file, as well as see them in real time while taking the logs

It has been close to a week since the FT86SF catted UEL headers were installed. Sounds great and definitely feel the difference in performance. The new header is quite a bit lighter than the OEM. I am still smelling the curing ceramic coating which will hopefully be gone soon since it has a strange burning type smell. Can only smell it when headers get suitably hot. I don't have a tune. Only other upgrade is the TRD intake (aside from the shifter springs update).

Haha, what's the likeliness of getting Graham out here to Hawaii? I'm sure he'd love it. Maybe we can schedule a group tune? If it is feasible for him, lmk.

Aloha,
Ace

For those that have installed uncoated FT86SF catted UEL headers, would you be able to post up temps you see (using a laser temp gauge)? I want to see how coated vs. uncoated compares. Also.. do you smell any unusual smells and how long did it take to clear?
