[GTA] Where to Buy Car Cleaning Supplies

Looking to buy some good cleaning supplies but at reasonable price.

I would like to do a full paint correction (wish I could afford the work @Hamza7 does)

This will also be my first time really doing this so any recommendations on what to buy would be great.

Thanks in advance

Everyone recommends eshine.ca as stated above from a thread posted earlier this week.

Ok so eShine.ca seems to be the place to buy things. Any recommendations on products to buy?

I would like to do a paint correction job to remove swirls and some minor scuffs and scratches from the winter months.

Some sort of paint protection would be nice as well.

It would also be nice just to have some good washing supplies for weekly cleaning.

Dawn Dish Soap wash
Riccardo Blue Clay w/lube
Dawn wash
Klasse all-in-one
Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze x2 coats (3 if your shoulder isn't dead)

If you start in the morning, you'll have your first coat of HGSG before dinner. Buff after dinner. Coats 2 and 3 are for Sunday.

BTW, if you aren't happy with the paint after the AIO (with respect to swirls and micro scratches) you'll need to polish... I don't recommend your first polish job to be on a 1-2 yo car. Start with something OLD, that can only get better, even if you happen to burn the clear.

I deal with Larry @ http://www.wisdomdetail.ca/ and have been very happy with his service / prices, the plus side is he is local and a phone call away for any last minute needs.

I missed the part about the washing supplies. Dawn will get you paint CLEAN, nothing left.

After you do something like HGGS, you can get a mild soap. Call eShine, the owner there is so damn helpful.

Other optional products are, foam gun. IronX to remove other small bits of Iron rail and brake dust that is too small or too deep for clay bar. Finally, you'll need a buffing towel with good 'bite'. I love the eShine cookie monsters.

Yup eShines or Wisdom Detail as recommended by friends and co-workers over the years.

Man I wish they still sell the Ultimate Detailing Machine it was such a bargain.

OP try Meguiars' forum you'll learn a lot there like techniques and DOs / DON'Ts. Autoglym used to have some very good videos on YouTube demoing how to use their products both by hand or machine.

Basically little dish soap mixed with water is for stripping the product off the surface, then you can do the so-called "paint correction" / polish with your desired compounds and cutting pads using a rotary or orbital machine (not fake crappy tire stuff but a real machine with variable speed settings that has a motor which could generate enough torque and heat, different compounds and pads are rated for their cutting power), then you can use a wax pad to apply a very fine layer of sealant (sealant just means a product to seal the finish, could be wax or synthetic). You always wipe the product off by hand (hence the shoulder dying part). The second coat is to cover missed spots, the surface of the panel can only hold a finite amount of product so less is more. Finally you can finish it off with a detailer.

I used to use the Meguair's system of products as that's how I learned to detail in the beginning from a friend. I briefly switched to Autoglym (when the HD wax came out) but then switched back to Meguair's after 3M bought them (overall better result). I find the different products work best together if they come from the same system.

That's as simple as I can summarize it.

Yes and no.

Wax doesn't really layer well, but synthetic sealants are much harder, and can be layered.

One last thing to note is that synthetic sealants and glazes can last 6mo to 1 year and can be easier to clean and maintain. However, waxes tend to run thicker on application, and some have properties that can amplify the appearance of certain colours. Waxes tend to look better, but only last roughly 2-3 weeks.

Waxes CAN be layered onto synthetic sealants after the sealant has cured.

i like to clean and detail my car as a way to relax myself. I use Porter Cable, it won't burn your paint. eShine has good price on porter cable. As in detailing products I almost exclusively use Mcquires (ie Compound, Ultimate Wax, car wash etc). I get my clay bar, brushes, and pads from eshine as well.

Listen to PMPB, he seems to know his shiz! If it's your first time, practice on an older car and go for the porter cable. Also, watch vids on youtube or read up on techniques. It takes a lot of practice.

Alright buddy, let's initiate Canada's Economic Recovery plan. If you can come by the shop I'll let you borrow my polishers, pads and polishes and waxes if you'd like. All you need is a car wash (use dishwashing liquid to remove previous waxes) and clay (you could buy a meguiars kit from Crappy Tire).

FRS paint isn't hard to work with but you have to make sure you want to take this risk. Anyways come by the shop. I'll be around all weekend....
