So you can have ARs but not AKs in MD? Is it because they're imported? Even if 922r compliance?

BTW, IMHO, Scar H is a far superior weapon over the FAL. Had a HK91, that thing was a dream. Wish I never sold it but the price was too good to turn down.

Actually, ARs are grandfathered if purchased before 10/1/2013, otherwise technically you can't get them. The law allows for 'Colt Sporter HBAR' models - local gun market has taken that to mean that any heavy barrel AR is legal. Regardless, I'd encourage you to read up on Maryland's 'Firearm Safety Act' of 2013 if you want to read some asinine shit. They banned ~40 semi-autos of various manufacture including Kalishnikovs in any form.

Looks like I need to post up pics of my basic AR (well, basics for me includes foregrip, tac light, MBUS, and reddot/holo sight), with Magpul hardware (ASAP back plate, BAD lever, etc.).

An AR with too much crap on it better be an AR10, b/c there's no reason to have a rifle that only shoots .223 weigh nearly 10 lbs. If it's going to be 10lbs, then it might as well be shooting .308 .

I shoot from a bipod, sitting or laying. :P Don't have the money or the time to get into 3 gun, but I always wanted to do IDPA style shooting.

5.56 is not something meant for target shooting, but infantry . Well, you CAN, but that's not what an AR was designed for .

Living in California, my options are a little more limited. Especially with ARs.

Luckily there's a 600 yard range a couple hours away with steel targets every 100 yards. More locally, there's a 300 yard paper target range and several 25y indoor ranges. There's BLM land too if I want to take out my steel target, but that's based on vehicle availability, since mine doesn't off-road so good!

After shooting with my friend's gun I wanted to pick up some ammo for him but these suckers are out of stock in so many places.
