For all you Pittsburgh guys, I know it's been beaten to death but how does the BRZ/FRS fair in the snow around here? Given our abundance of hills that's my only concern. I'm currently in a 2011 WRX and trying to decide whether to go to the BRZ or mod the rex.

Any help of experiences would be great. I have a set of General Altimax snow tires for the WRX I could use on the BRZ so I'm covered on that front. Anyone miss the power of their previous cars, or do you just have to learn the powerband for the BRZ? I've test driven the BRZ and FRS on a couple of occasions and it feels a little underpowered(I know, I know...). I just can't get the sharpness/steering feel of the BRZ out of my head.

Mine did fine in the snow with Gen. Altimax on the stock wheels.

Don't miss my previous car at all - BMW 135i M-sport. The handling and fun of driving the BRZ is great. Couldn't really use the hp of the 135i - got illegal much more quickly and was sort of a fat pig on twisties compared to the BRZ....plus I get 40% better mpg now!

Are you the red fr-s I keep seeing on tarentum bridge road? I think I passed you again this evening when you were turning into the staples/kmart plaza. I'm just over in allegheny township.

I've never been stuck anywhere. I've done better in the FRS on snows than on my front drivers with all seasons. It's a little slow getting started but once you're moving, no worries.

It's always nice to have a little more power, but the car rarely feels underpowered. If anything, the torque dip is the main issue. I took care of that with a UEL header so at least there are options.
