The stall and torque converter multiplication will affect the auto's performance compared to the manual. If the stall is a low 1.8k or even at 2.5k the car will not be able to launch hard, which will kill the 0-60 compared to a manual launched at 5k or 6k.

6.7 0-60 is my best guess for the base manual... 6.8 for the "loaded" manuals.

Without launching and just revving up from idle, this car could easily be slower than a 2.0L Civic Si despite the same horsepower and RWD, because VTEC gives a much better low rpm cam profile that allows it to make so so torque compared to the FA20 which is running a high rpm long duration cam which is absolutely horrible for low rpm torque. The dyno charts posted show a huge drop in torque, but they don't tell the whole story as they stop at 1500rpms or so. Below 1500, it should get even worse. At idle I'd be surprised if the car is even able to output half of its peak torque. The moment you bring launching into the equation everything changes, because you can essentially bypass the shit-torque-range on this engine with a clutch dump, and possibly put more power down because the car is RWD (although lower center of gravity reduces the weight transfer to the rear and this car is still slightly front biased) |

0-60mph in 5.9s
Check this link out guys, it states the 0-60 was achieved in 5.9s stock. Not bad...
![]() http://www.saycampuslife.com/2012/03...13-scion-fr-s/ http://www.zeroto60times.com/Scion-0-60-mph-Times.html Not sure if this was posted before but it seemed interesting, there you have the info. I guess 5.9s could be achievable under almost perfect conditions, with a good driver and a good launch. Not sure if with the auto or manual. But it should be similar with a good driver on both transitions IMO. I would say its a tough one, but it should be achievable. --- First post on a thread btw... Have been checking the forums out for a while though. |

Edmunds.com posted their test figures for the BRZ just the other day. 0-60 in 7.3 (or 7.0 with rollout) and 1/4 mile of 15.3 @ 92 mph.
I'm really not sure where that above 5.9 second figure came from, but Edmunds is much more credible. That being said the numbers are pretty disappointing

The Scion tC can reach those numbers, so I'm thinking that the 7.3 and 15.3 @ 92mph is not at optimal driving. The real numbers should come from personal users going to the drag strip. |

Surely Car and Driver will have better numbers. They always seem to

Re the InsideLine 0-60 time, InsideLine was careful to point out why the figure seems higher than expected: http://www.insideline.com/subaru/brz...and-video.html

So the BRZ will be about as fast as a stock 2.0T WRX in a straight line. I can live with that. I really want a car I can take to a road course a couple times a year without spending so much time and money on modifications as I had to do on my WRX's. I'm short on both. I'll just laugh at anyone who wants to race me at a stoplight for wasting gas. |

And only little fanbois race from light to light. There is always someone who is going to be faster than you. If you want to race in a straight line just go to the track.IMHO a real car enthusiast isn't worried about car x vs car z its about appreciating what you drive and what makes each car unique.
