New SF BRZ owner
What's up guys, I've been looking on these forums for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger on a BRZ. I'll be picking it up on the 14th from the dealer. I already ordered a few things for it lol. I couldn't help it, your cars look great. Here's a list of the plans I made:
Toms clear tails (shipped) Beat sonic BRZ shark fin (back ordered) Helix clear side markers (back ordered) Greddy evo 3 catback (want) Invidia or berk or motiv catted front pipe (want) BC racing BR coilovers (want/unsure if good brand) Rota RT5 18x8.5/9.5 (want/from wheeldude?) -like the 5 spoke concave look I'm not really on a budget but I don't want to spend a crazy amount like over 2k for wheels or coilovers. I would like to do exhaust or coils next but Im not sure which one. Any ideas? And I also saw a meet at OTG on Tuesdays, I'd like to attend when I get the car! Or any other meets around the Bay Area would be great too. Thanks guys in advanced. Last edited by ZOMBRZ; 04-08-2014 at 11:41 PM. Reason: Forgot something! |

What are your goals in ride height? Slammed or just a simple drop? Oh and congrats on your car!

Welcome! Feel free to just drop by the SF OTG Tues casual meets, no need to have the car. Great way to meet folks, but be careful, you will be finding more mods you will want to do lol. The bay area is so active, you can go to meets all week (SF Tues, South bay Wed, East bay Thurs, Dublin Fri)

Thanks man. I'm looking for a drop to get rid of that wheel gap. But not too low, I'd like to go over speed bumps normally lol. So maybe a 1.5-2 inch drop with 18s? I Don't really wanna go with a camber. I just don't see the point in wearing down my tires in a particular spot? Lol correct me if I'm wrong. It's my first time actually throwing money into a car like this so I don't know too much. I just have a good idea on how I want it to look like.

So with the BCs I would say they are more for slamming as they can give you a pretty good drop. I haven't heard bad things about them though if you go with those. I am waiting on my ST coilovers (back ordered) but ive read really good things about them. They max out at about 2" so they don't go crazy low. They are made by KW and are actually the same as the KW v1s just coated differently. I should have mine by the end of the month and I can give you my personal input on how they ride after installed. But if money really isn't an issue...the KW v3s are supposed to be rwally good!

@BigFatFlip sounds like fun lol. What's better than finding more ways to spend your money.
@MObrz5 even the regular BCs give u a good drop? Then I can only imagine what the BC "extreme drop" coils do lol. |

I personally wouldn't go with BC's, like said above it's more of a show-type coilover primarily for aesthetics. If you want to just drop the car just opt for springs which range from 200-300 for the set.
But for around the 1 grand price, I would look into Fortune Auto 500's. Awesome coilovers and definitely track-proven by many on this forum, including vendors and track-only setups. |

I'll suggest if budget isn't a big deal, fork out the cash and buy OEM sidemarkers instead of helix and ST coilovers are great for getting rid of wheel gap completely without compromising too much ride comfort.

Thanks guys. I personally didn't know much about the ST coilovers. But the fact that they have a relation to KW and under 1000 makes it very appealing.
@HighContrast is there any reason not to go with the helix marker?s I thought they would be just about the same. |

I've got helix side markers and haven't noticed anything. Perhaps I'm one of the lucky ones? That said, if the cost isn't an issue, might be a good idea to go oem just in case.

Any ideas on what should be bought next from experience? Greddy Evo 3 w/ catted front pipe or the ST coilovers?
