Yeah the weather up here is really awesome. It was crazy earlier as the sun was setting. It was just dark, swirling clouds that stopped to a blue background out west.

BTW, I would be 100% down to help you install your Five AD. I have tons of tools and my garage. I can just pull my car out. They have an install video on Youtube also. It is fairly easy. Uses a lot of factory points and just having to set the tape, which i have their spoiler and im sure its pretty much the same process.

Yeah, it looks like just a bunch of measuring and once the tape is down, everything kinda sets in place. I think $450 to install this is kind of outrageous. I'll hit you up maybe this weekend if you are free if I don't try to install this under my covered parking at my apartment, lol.

Ya, even after watching the video above, it's all about lining up the tape and pieces before mounting. The rest is cake. I'm going to try it myself this weekend.

FYI, Nelsmar on the forums is tuning my car remotely. The guy knows his tunes big time. My car has picked up WAY more power than FA20club ever could do. My timing is quite a bit more advanced now than it was and I literally have no more torque dip. I'm on my 8th revision and still fine tuning it, but we're real close. We actually have really good 93 octane gas here that makes the Phoenix people jealous.

He'll also tune you guys for a small price to help fund getting his blown engine rebuilt. PM him if you are ever interested in it. You will need an Ecutek license and cable if you want to do it.

Awesome to hear you found a better tuner. I'll be keeping him in mind

Girlfriend got me some small cusco bits for my birthday, pedal and shift knob, not so sure I like the feel of the knob it is smaller. I'll have to install the pedal sometime this weekend when I am not busy.

how much are you paying him? I think he supports OFT too. Thinking about trying shiv's OTS e85 soon since it's close

Good question, we haven't talked about that yet, but I'm sure its WAY more reasonable than any tuner on the forums. I'm thinking around $50-$75 a tune, no lie. He will give you detailed descriptions of what he's doing during the process. He'll tell you what he wants each logging session in what RPM bands and what gears. You can call him, text him. Real nice guy. He's looking for some cash to get his car back up and running. I'll happily support him.

He normally dyno tunes cars locally in Phoenix and I'm one of the first few he's remote tuned. So far it's working extremely well. My JDL UEL is showing its power now.

I'd certainly like a tuner who drives an 86 to be doing my tune when I'm ready for it. I'm glad you finally found one who works well for you. Where are you doing dyno pulls?

Street tuning. Nothing on the dyno. I'll be dynoing once we are done with the final logs and tune. My upper RPM's are done, but now we need to work on the lower RPM range, the 2k-3k area, and 4-5k. Dip area is gone.

Oh that's nice. Did you do a baseline dyno? I like how he is focusing on specific areas of the powerband to maximize everywhere.

No baseline.

I'm all in on my mods, lol. Ya nelsmar is great. Highly recommend. Working on more logs right now. About to have the low RPM's fine tuned.

Boo on the no baseline!

I'm considering doing my op/fp next after I get my suspension upgrades installed. I'm also considering dialing in my suspension then doing power mods, what is particularly compelling about the latter is that I'm not wanting to do an engine tune until after my warranty is gone and the upgrades won't reach their full potential until then. Still no leads on oe shocks for me to cannibalize though, guess I'll be bumping my thread in the classifieds section...

On a sadder note, my brz is going in for two warranty issues (granted one is solvable with an engine tune) after I'm back in town. First is my transmission has the 5th synchro issue and SoA has approved a new tranny (why I held off on putting my motul oil in it when I did the rear differential). The other started yesterday on my road trip and now does it all the time... Rpm hunting at idle.... that one made me curse the elder gods.
