I can't guarantee you won't have problems, but if you do it won't be due to running 17x9 on springs.

I can second this my car has seen the track a couple times and goes through the occasional drift excursion on my 18x9s with no problems 0 rubbing, 0 odd sounds, all the fun and looks awesome

Think I should stagger? Maybe 17x8 in the front so I don't poke too much? I hate uneven-ness.

staggered setup looks amazing on these cars, but also need to remember you won't be able to rotate tires

you run into a whole host of issues running spaces, especially the kind that you'd need to make the backs look staggered in contrast to the fronts.
