Your car makes me want to paint mine like the old Gulf Oil Ford GT.

As far as Plasti Dip goes, it looks great!
As far as paint goes, it looks Plasti Dip.

It's honestly the best looking dipped FR-S I've seen.

Looks amazing, I plan on dipping my own car maybe next year.

My friend just dipped his car maybe a month ago

Just wondering, what's the reasonable life expectancy of Plasti Dip on a large surface subjected to all that a car's paint is subject to? What type of maintenance does it require?

From what I've read ~3 years is the life expectancy and as far as maintenance goes, just keep it clean and that's about it.

Praise the craftsmanship, not a fan of the actual look of the car afterwards... I feel as though the color is too flat and boring on the shape of the car to turn any heads. not to say that the work wasn't well done -- from the pics, it looked pretty perfect.

It depends on the color, how it was done, etc but some come out pretty good and some look bad. The hood thing is it's pealable.

For me, there is no glide in pulse and glide :p

Entire car plasti dipped = $650
Entire car vinyl wrapped = ~$3,500

^^^ I work for a vinyl wrapping company and we charge 2,000 for an frs. I don't know any company that would charge 3,500 for an 86

In any case that's 4-5 times the price of dipping the car. Which proves the OPs point on cost to be valid.
