But we can throw in our ten cents, right. Mine is God Bless you FRS300 but you are in way over your head and too trusting. This is still Subaru's first and only engine with a Toyota DI parasite stuck on top. Completely new from the block to the heads, open deck.

Remember when we first bought these cars many said the compression ratio was too high for any sort of FI?

The internet sometimes makes things look easy and we jump into things we aren't capable of pulling off. Sometimes financial or time commitment. You should start small. 8 psi turbo kit with a solid basemap. Go up from there slowly, get to know others who have pulled off what you are trying to achieve.

Anyone going to this sort of power levels should be in close contact with their shop, have a long term relation, pop in a couple times a week, know everything they are doing and why, 16 psi on an FA20 is not something you can just throw money at and achieve. JMHO.

Magnaflux is the brand. The process is Fluorescent/Dye Penetrant Inspection, it pulls surface cracks on non-ferrous metals (and ferrous).

Poodles was most likely referring to Magnetic Particle Inspection, it only works on magnetic (ferrous) metals... saw "Magna..." and thought magnetic probably?

Sorry I just wanted to put out the correct information since this is what I do for a living

Thanks for the info/memory jog been a long time since I worked with metallurgist's, they would run the penetrant test on the cylinder heads that would be machined and powder coated at the plant. My boss was a MIT grad/specialist in aluminum castings.

Hated that guy, didn't learn/remember much 'cause he was such a prick. All I remember is aluminum castings, especially new designs were a tough ordeal to get right. Worst memory was him keeping us in his little meeting so he could talk 4 hours about minor technical issues minutes after 911.

Sorry for the off topic rant.

No updates as of yet since the heads were taken to Headgames to get properly lashed and reassembled. They are a few weeks out before finished since there is such a big waiting list there due to them being the absolute best at what they do. We wanted to make sure they were properly done rather than give them elsewhere and have them done sooner just to run into the same issues again.

I have more pics i need to edit before posting. Everything is basically down to a bare block so after i post these there really isnt much else until the heads get back.
