Wow, that sucks. A very similar thing happened to me so I know the feeling too well. One day my land lord told me "you should start looking for a place, I'm foreclosing on the house and you need to move out by the end of the week". I lived in somebody's basement for about a month before I found a decent apartment. Good luck man.
