Any Track day recommended for a track noobie near NY area?

Any Track day recommended for a track noobie like me?

I have been looking around to join any up coming track day but only found a few in NJ and the date is this weekend. Not sure I am ready to jump into that one.

I also found one in NJ again on June 2 but registration seems to be close for noobie w/ instructor level(waiting for them to call me back and say I can signup)

Just want to see if any one has any recommendation for newbie that want to get some experience on the track. I am located in the NYC area

Thanks guys

I will be attending the Watkins Glen event in late April. From what i could see (watching ppls in car videos) Watkins seems like a very line driven yet simple course with very few hard braking corners.

I am in Nassau. The NASA NE events are good for beginners. They are well organized and they will pair you with an instructor.

My first track day was at NJMP Thunder. I'm going back again in May.

Feel free to PM me if you want more insight from a fellow noob.

send me a PM. I can provide all the info anyone needs. Any HPDE event is going to put you into a category based on your experience. For beginners we (NASA-NE) will assign a instructor and he will be with you all day. Everyone is there to help the new guys, don't let their type of car scare you away, we are all there because we love cars and the people involved.

+1 on NASA NE - great group

The Glen is a track that uses up brakes. You will be on them hard when braking for these turns: T1, the Bus Stop, T6, the Toe (T7), and the Heel (T8). The reason you're on them hard is because of your speed; the Glen is one of the higher-speed tracks around. In addition, except for the Bus Stop, those turns are down slopes, adding to the demand on your brakes.

You definitely want to stay on top of your braking system status throughout the event, checking them carefully prior to every session: pad thickness, any signs of brake fluid leaking, MC fluid level, and rotor condition.
