I have Endless pads front and rear. Grabby when cold. Haven't taken them on the track yet. Quite dusty... Super quiet on the street.

Squealing on the Bobcats is less after this weekend's GMR run. Still present when warm, but mostly quiet for the first few stops in city driving. I'm thinking that since these pads are ceramic (at least according to Carbotech's site), that this is some residual metal from the rear disks that wasn't cleaned off before installation.

I can't drive it and try to locate where the squeals are coming from, though, so the best I can do is guess.

After having mine installed now (1521). I think the problem is more the rotors.
Mine are perfectly silent now until you make 2 or more hard stops and then they start squealing horribly until they cool down again.

Next set of rotors and pads I am having Essex burnish before shipping. Too much work to get it right for the track and street. @JRitt

Watching this video (http://www.essexparts.com/learning-c...ds/post/Bed-in) I'm thinking I need to go more aggressive on my bedding technique to see if I can get a better result. I'm going to start with the 60-30s that are recommended (probably more like 8 reps) and then move to 60-10s with a similar number of reps. Looking at my disks I can see a thick transfer layer on the rear disks but there's still plenty of shine on the front (even though there's clearly material on the disk and there are clean groves on the rotors themselves).

I'll check in after I've done the more aggressive bedding and let you know what the results were.

So went aggressive last night with the bobcats, 8 60-30s, 8 minutes driving above 45, 8 60-30s, 2 minutes driving above 45, 6 60-15s, 35-40 minutes freeway driving above 60. The brakes were definitely fading at the end of the last set, much more than the first time following Carbotech's recommendations.

Minimal differences from yesterday afternoon, but the front rotors look darker. The coloring of the rotor is much darker in the center band of the rotor, getting lighter towards the center and outer edges.

I have the AP Formula 4 piston kit from Essex (Thanks!!!) and ordered the AP 100 pads. They are literally like stock. No sound and work well when cold. Braking power has gone up 500%! Absolutely love them.

Which Carbotech pad model did you order for your AP Racing Essex Sprint (CP8350) kit? Was it D50 (CTFRP3116) or D41 (CTW7420)? Looks like Counterspace Garage sells D41, just wanted to make sure this is the right one.

So any silent pads out there yet? I have yet to find one although my entire pad supply for all three of my cars consists entirely of track pads.. but still.. the BRZ is the only one that makes noise on the street (beyond light squeal right at the end of a stop which the M3 does, the Integra is dead silent with CL RC6 pads).

I should be getting some of those magic sauce PMU 999s soon

New Carbotech 1521/Bobcats + new ap racing sprint kit (new rotors) + new stop tech slotted rear rotors + proper initial bedding completed + 1-2 near ABS hard stops = pretty loud squeal when slowing down gently to a complete stop...goes away pretty quickly if pads are allowed to cool down a bit.

Every hard braking provokes squeal but has to be very hard braking...not likely to happen with normal street driving.

IMHO, excellent street pads for this BBK

As I mentioned before someone said to try masonry cleaner, which is pretty toxic acidic stuff, which I'm a little weary of trying so if someone has a better idea I'm all ears as I'd like to get the black tint off my gold wheels.

The first time I put them on I forgot the shims, the 2nd time I used the shims. Did not grease them. The 2nd time it was just a little less squealy but still too annoying to keep the pads on. I'm no expert but I think the old transfer layer came off. The rotors were used and the same as what I've had on the car since purchase last year. As far as I could tell the transfer layer didn't want to stay on for very long after the track day and definitely didn't stay on when street driving. I'm pretty light on the brakes when street driving so they probably don't heat up at all.

Thanks for asking questions and trying to figure out what's going on.
I was able to get the baked on brake dust off with Goo Gone. I needed to be gentle because if I pushed too much the paint on my wheels came off too.
