#4263 checking in, arrived on Monday 31st and I was in middle of the pre-order batch.

My appointment and tune with Evasive is on the 14th so between now and then, I will be doing pre-install videos in and out of the car with my intake and header-back exhaust system. See sig.

Then, same videos in and out of the car on the same road and same speeds after the header. Of course, before/after dynos will be shared. I'm currently pig rich on stock tune with the mods in sig, been waiting for the header before I tune.

So will this cause a CEL without a tune?

No...it will not. If you've read or followed the thread, @FT-86 SpeedFactory has said that it will not.

When I get home I'll show you a before and after dyno that shows me getting to under 10 AFR and lower at redline with my current mods on the stock ECU and tune with about 4k miles. This is from memory when I did the dyno in Feb.

On a completely stock car, it was fine, but the ECU overcompensates, excessively so in my experience, when you increase flow with a full intake and header back.

So here is a stock tune (blue line) at 1,500mi and then the black and red after intake, Perrin overpipe, Berk catted front pipe, Perrin 2.5" resonated cat back installed at 3,000mi and dyno'ed with 3,500mi.

Fuel trims were rich under power, but fine under cruise. Now after things are broken in, rich all over the place even on cruise. My mileage is suffering big time putting around Santa Barbara stop light to stop light under 3,500rpms. By a factor of 1-2MPG a gallon worse.

Rev matching I can hear the effect of too much fuel being dumped in from the motor stumbling when I give the accelerator a quick stab instead of rising lazily, but smoothly, like it did when completely stock.

Short term fuel trims in closed loop can only accommodate so much before the fuel and timing tables are too far out of whack for the new flow of the motor. I was hoping to avoid a tune and stay on the stock ECU but you know what, its just the daily and only needs to last me a couple years. Time to go ECUTek!

Did you try resetting the ECU by disconecting the battery?

Do you know what number you were in line for the headers? Like for example, I was #22 to order the headers.
