This is the same guy that I linked from page one of this thread. I think someone else linked on page 3 as well...

This thread makes me wonder what under hood pressure is normally at different speeds. Won't the airflow happen anyway regardless of a pressure drop over the fender? There will be a pressure drop considering the air at the front of the car is pressurizing the engine bay and it has no where else to escape so easily?

Regardless of all that stuff, the guy said he saw a temperature drop... not good enough?

so can someone enlighten me on where to cut the hole out behind the fender garnish? Do you just cut the whole damn thing out? I'd like to see a pic if anyone has done it. I know there are 6 small holes for the clips to go in, but those holes aren't big enough to let air out?

Yes, someone cut the whole thing out pretty much.

Those 6 holes for the mounting clips is part of the fender. It will do no good to cut that area if the front upper frame rail/apron still blocks it.

Behind the fender is this.

Signifigantly cutting that is a HUGE no no stucturally. The existing holes are crush zones so that in an impact/wreck the force is transfered/dampened around and before the passenger. Also with out correct finishing you will be inviting rust into some major areas of the car. I do know the twins use HSS (high strength steel) in the roof supports and front structural areas. I don't remember if the upper rail is one of those areas though.

Yes, I used those holes to give me a guide on where to cut. Before adding the adhesive strip, I used the mesh as a guide as well to help me measure out how much to cut out.

As for pressure, let's be honest. Our cars have a top speed of 136 mph. If you figure out how to go 200mph, then you'll need to worry about it

i think with a vented hood this will surely cool the motor. air goes in thru the hood vents and out the side vents.

i see no problems with a bit of water in the engine bay. i already get my engine bay soaked every time it rains from the hood vents. just makes it a bit dirty. so u gotta clean it more often. if the water was a problem you could make covers for the engine bay side of the duct (for when its raining).

Vented hoods draw air from the engine, not add air.

He could be taking about something like a hood scoop or NACA duct. But yes, most vents are there to relieve pressure from under the hood and assist aero over the car if done right.
