We've posted this video before, but it really is the best way to describe the quick transient boost response of our turbo system. The transient time to achieve xxx.xx ft.lbs of torque and boost at a given RPM from an off throttle condition to full throttle will be the same regardless of final target boost. Hopefully that makes sense.

Ok so for anyone who is planning to buy Ptuning kit or already purchased but wondering whether to drive to PTuning to install/tune, I say DO IT. At first I was hesistant to drive so far for installation and tune but now I'm glad I did. My ride back(~1500 miles/ 20+hrs)was very enjoyable and plus my car feels so much better! Not only is it faster but everything seems to run so much smoother. There was no issues in my drive back. And since the turbo is mounted low I was able to drive nonstop without any heating issues. The only issue I actually had was keeping myself from constantly boosting haha! Toan and his crew takes great care of you and your car. Thank you Toan, MrC, and everyone else at PTuning!!

That's awesome news! I'm glad you were able to get the tuning sorted out. Great numbers!

Do you guys have any plans for possible upgrades to the tranny? since I don't think with the kit a tranny swap is in the question?

@ptuning is tuning available for OFT owners? I'm trying to avoid the ecutek route as much as possible.

Due to the popularity with this car internationally, I think we'll likely wait to see if manufacturers step up to develop full gear sets for the factory transmission first before deciding.

Unfortunately, we have no plans to tune with OFT at the moment. We opted for a smaller blow-thru MAF housing to allow for steadier MAF readings during idle and low load conditions. In doing so though, we require software that has speed density capability.

Here is something to keep in mind with ECUTek though. The RaceROM features developed by ECUTek does A LOT more than most people are aware of. It allows tuners to write custom maps to implement electronic boost control, PI closed loop feedback of boost control, boost cut, flex-fuel, custom fail-safe triggers, boost by ethanol content, boost by gear, custom traction control, and the list goes on and on.

The other ECU flashing software manufacturers will eventually implement these features, but until they do there is no good reason not to run ECUTek. It is the most capable flashing software on the market right now.

I'm not sure I understand this. What do you mean "speed density capability?" From what I understand the factory ECM uses MAF for steady state operation, and switches to speed density for load transitions as is common with many modern vehicles. Are you saying the OFT does not have the ability to modify the VE tables, or are you saying you run 100% Speed Density tunes? If the latter is the case, why have a MAF housing at all?

I think you may be thinking about EVO X ROM tuning. That car uses both methods for load blend calculations straight from the factory. Other cars use the MAP sensor for things like boost control and boost cut (factory turbo Subarus), for EVAP purging, and for limp mode conditions when the MAF sensor dies.

If you are against speed density tuning just because ECUTek is the only company currently offering it, let me tell you this. Don't fight it. I don't get paid by ECUTek or any other software or EMS company for using or recommending their products. I go with what works for me and my customers. ECUTek's RaceROM features are there to make magic happen and are not just gimmicky useless features.

I don't want to discuss on a public forum why we currently don't tune using OFT, but let's just say that the speed in which a tuner can tune your car is very important to getting a good dyno tune, especially on a platform like this that takes so long to flash to being with.
