I loaded ESO up and played (as Dadhawk of course).

I enjoyed playing it, and saw a lot of things I liked, but in the end I'm just not a target audience for a subscription based game. I love this type of game, but in single player mode because I just can't justify the subscription costs, particularly if I have to pay up front for the game.

I guess you could say I'm a serious "casual" player, because life just gets in the way.

I guess I'll just go back to working through my Steam backlog....

I joined the last 4 betas, really liked it in the beginning. However, it's a "MMO with elder scroll feel", instead of an "elder scroll with mmo feel". I will probably still get it, but I don't think I'm gonna play it for an extended period of time.

PS: Last MMO I got was FFXIV: RR....and only played it for less then 2 weeks. I think the current MMO structure need to die, They can get very boring unless u are just touching the MMO piece of pie for the first time.

That pretty much sums up how I feel about it. I never understood the attraction to WoW for those same reasons. Unless I'm missing something I thing ESO missed the boat on the opportunity to change the face of the game. It just feels like WoW with a new skin on it to me.

I think maybe I was expecting more role-playing where the roles in a Quest were played by individuals who got assigned opposing roles and there would be that variety. I know easier said than done...

Haven't completely given up on it yet. Hard to justify the upfront cost and the monthly fee though.... If it were one or the other it would be more tempting.

This was my biggest concern. Skyrim with other dudes running around that I could quest with? Shut up and take my money!

WOW with Skyrim shoveled on top? No thanks.

I've played for a few hours. Enjoying it, especially since I haven't played an mmo in years.
