![]() Unless I drive a few hours away I will not see a BRZ or a FRS. While in ten minutes downtown in my little town I'll see half a dozen Mustangs. 50years means 50 years pumping em out hence their visibility everywhere. If the twins are made half that long sure there will be many, many more out however for now they're much more rare and I like that personally. In closest city of over a million people in a entire day I'm lucky to see maybe 2-3 FRS/BRZ all awhile I'll lose count of Mustangs, Vettes, Porsches etc... In my small city of 10k people I'm only one here with this car, while in my sub division alone there are 16 Mustangs, 3 GTRs, 1R8, 4 Vettes... Anyhow you get the idea... A mustang while I don't dislike is not a tuners car, one of the biggest reasons aside from look I purchased the twins is the ability to make it yours. If you consider the amount of modifications interior and exterior already available (now) it's mind blowing really. Here's a suggestion goto any popular Mustang forum take a look at member journal/galleries spend an hour looking. Then come here do same tell me which car is more individualized and can truly look "so different", I think you'll then understand that point. I can't tell you how many times last summer my car was thought to be something Euro or exotic, people wanted to talk about it while all along it's just a twin. In mustang all the years I had them no one cared or even created much conversation and they were all pretty pimped out as well. It's not an attention thing I could care less, however it's nice not having something half world has and also I love that I can even appreciate a fully stock BRZ/FRS as much as one with 30k mods that's a hard appreciation to have with many other cars on the road. If you like the Mustang get it by all means. Just sharing some personal opinion. And ya personal opinions are like belly buttons and assholes to everyone has one.

I would also argue it depends what type of in-car experience you want.
Are you the type of person who needs to be entertained and values flashy features? Ford has a very strong focus on providing all sorts of (in my opinion) gimmicky in-car tech features. Voice command, sat nav, heated and cooled seats, autosense wipers, four different driving modes which don't alter the suspension, and an assortment of other problems waiting to happen. I guess the FR-S is more spartan than the BRZ, but it offers what I need (ability to connect my phone via bluetooth) and not much more. I find the extra features annoying, but the majority of US consumers value them. I've been up close and personal with the 2015 Mustang and it is still a GIANT car compared to the twins. If you don't mind the size, no problem. If you find brute acceleration more exhilarating than razor edge control, you might be better off with the 5.0 (it's a wonderful engine!) On the other hand, if cost is an issue ... there are bound to be numerous 2014 GT's sitting on the lot with marginal performance differences and large incentives. Just a thought. Best of luck |

Honestly, go for test drives again, for me it was a no brainer after the first corner.
The new Mustang isn't loosing as much weight as was rumored, maybe 100-200 lbs at this point which is still in the neighborhood of 600 lbs heavier than a Toyobaru. I'll pick light and slow over heavy and fast any day. |

Same thing with the fobless entry, and starting the car with the key in your pocket. Just so gimmicky! :P Take all that effort and apply it to what it's like to drive the thing ... simplify it. /end_rant yeah if the size is something you can live with then no problem there. I was just astonished at how large it was despite it "getting smaller". I can literally go stand next to the 2015 Mustang on my lunch break. Or right now. |

I feel better knowing I'm not the asshole pulling up in a Camaro ... or Impala. If you show me what Ford vehicle provides the same dynamics as the twins I'll happily go buy one today ![]() If only Ford still partnered with Mazda ... |
