So do you guys think the car will drive the same, even with breaking the rack and pinion and damaging the body the way i did?

who knows
As long as all the hardware, as far as mounting locations, for all the replaced parts were not bent is should be fine. on my old car I bent a wheel and destroyed a wheel bearing by hitting a median and it drove just fine after repair, and I don't baby it. Car is still in the family ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |

It's OK man - at least you are OK
I'm a 44 yo dad. I'm sure your folks are just happy you are OK.
It's gonna be a few months for you to get over this. I crashed my Turbo Supra when I was in my 20s and I was pretty freaked out. Everyone can armchair quarter back how you could have driven, corrected, given gas, whatever - but even PRO drivers crash too. When a car let's go, all you can really do - great driver or not, is minimize the damage. As far as your insurance, DO NOT JUST ROLL OVER. Get emotionally calm and write down what happened. Also take pictures of where you crashed - the rail, the turn, the roadway. ESPECIALLY the roadway. From the first few shots, there looked like A LOT of sand on your tire. No great driver or perfect tire is gonna corner on sand. You don't need to carry a lot of speed to slide a car on sand. If there is still a lot of sand on the roadway, you have a decent not-at-fault case. Yes, your rates may go up - but it better to have a not-at-fault on your insurance file than an at-fault crash. My 2-cents. Hope things work out for you! |

I think it will. I've seen and repaired countless cars, most of them being wrecked much much worse than yours, and as long as the repair is performed correctly it'll drive just fine after. You had mostly body damage with the exception of a steering rack & pinion, which are designed to break in order to prevent damage to other components. Judging by the pictures and the way you described what happened, you shouldn't have any frame damage. If anything at all, you may have bent the reinforcements for the front fender, Toyota part# SU00301309. This part is welded to the frame, so technically it's frame/unibody, but won't affect the drive ability whatsoever and would've been replaced if it was damaged. Your car will need an alignment if anything at all
