They just arrived! My first impression is that they are very well made. The stitching is quality and the velcro looks like it will hold up well. Best part is that I don't have to worry about my dress shirts getting worn from the stock seat belts. Also, with the Dri-Lex Sweat Control Fiber, I don't have to deal with what may happen in the Texas summer heat. After lunch, these are going on and I may have to try them out on a test drive.

I talked to them today - the first run of 10 sets sold out almost immediately. the 2nd run was 20 sets, and they've just completed those and will be shipping them out soon. they're going to make another run of 20 sets. i think they're playing it by ear as they have no idea how many to make.

remember, you can install the 2nd one on the waist for additional comfort during autocross, HPDE etc. besides putting it on the passenger side. i run the 2nd one on the waist daily.

I'm really pleased with these pads. They look like they were meant for the car and are very well constructed. Would I buy them again? Yes, so long as they last for a few years, which I imagine will happen.

If you have any doubts, just go and get them. Someone else in the 86 crowd will buy them off of you!

For anyone who has them. My only concern is does the seatbelt slide through the pads with ease? I am OCD when it comes to my seatbelts being taught when I get out of my car. And I don't want to have to pull the seatbelt through the pad, I want it to retract on its own.

Received pads today

Got the shoulder pads today and find that they do allow the seat belt to retract through the pad. It was a good purchase. I would recommend them to anyone who likes having a shoulder pad.

I've been driving with mine since Saturday and wanted to comment on this. These shoulder pads work pretty well and they do allow the seat belt to retract but it doesn't retract all the way and it's slow.

If you slot it through the top-most slot, the shoulder pad will sit lower on the seat belt and physically block the seat belt from retracting all the way. So depending on how high or low you position the shoulder pad, the seat belt will retract that much accordingly.

The materials of this pad pretty cushion-y and comfortable. Excellent quality as far as I can tell. Matches the interior nicely, good materials and workmanship.

I want to say though that I have taken mine off. I'm using it as a waist pad for now. Reason being, while the seat belt still retracts/feeds out, the movement is severely slowed down. Maybe I just get in and out of my car too fast but it was really annoying to put on the seat belt, let it retract, etc.. This a problem common with all shoulder pads though so ehh what can you do.

Another thing that bothered me is I turn my whole shoulder a lot - the shoulder pads prevents me from turning. As a result, I get the 'seat belt locked me in' type of issue every single time I back out of a driveway, back into a parking spot, try to parallel park etc. The seat belt isn't actually locking me in though.. the shoulder pad is locked into place by the seat belt loop and the shoulder pad grips my shoulder. As a result, I'm locked into place by the seat belt loop... it depends on the shirt/jacket I'm wearing that the time though - how well the shoulder pad is gripping my shirt.

Overall, I do recommend these pads and I'm keeping them, I think they would be good on the shoulders for spirited driving and whatnot when I want the extra padding. IF you don't like shoulder pads, you probably won't like these ones.

Yes, it is the DAMD armrest. The belt clip pouch is worthless but I love the armrest.

I got the seat pads from e-bay - new parts world.

Both of these items most people would consider over priced but I'm after the things that make me more comfortable and of course look good.

.
where'd you get the TRD neck pillows? i've only seen them on some asian websites.

regarding some of the feedback - i agree - there are caveats to using seat belt pads. i have my pad adjusted so that there's some slack in the seat belt and it doesn't retract fully. i actually find it easier to put on as there's already a loop to put my arm through. as far as not retracting fully, i don't care as i'm not in the car when that happens. my main goal was to prevent the edge of the seat belt webbing from chafing my neck when i'm driving the car.

I got them on e-bay about 6 months ago but have not seen them since. Sorry

As for the seat belt pads, yes they do retract slowly and you do have to pull them away from you if you try to turn around in your seat or they do kind of "lock you in" but I have gotten used to these minor deficiencies and over all like them.

Thank you for posting a pic OP... not sure if that was how it's supposed to be, but now I rerouted my belt to tuck underneath the seat recline lever. No more twisting my hand back in a weird way to get the belt, heh.

that's the way it's supposed to be as i understand it. at the bottom of the lever, there's a cutout/guide to accommodate and retain the seat belt routed under there.
