Sigh.... Need a dent-dude.
Something whacked me on the hood. A bit polish fixed the associated scuff, but I'm left with a dent. More of a dimple, really, but still. Goram crap on the road. I'd have to point it out to most people. However.....
I've heard good things about Northwest Paintless Dent Removal. Any others? |

Hence why steel bodied cars annoy the hell out of me. Nothing like composites.

I'd rather be fixing a dent in a metal hood than a crack in a composite. I'd be annoyed either way. I mentioned the dent and how it was bothering me to someone at acupuncture. She said "I bet you're a Virgo." Damn. It's really not even worth any effort other than a spot of touch-up paint, but I will forever look at the damn thing as I approach the car. It could have been worse, I guess.

Granted the hood is aluminum which is more likely to experience dents vs steel, but even then sheet metal can be flimsy. I hope you get it fixed!

Thanks. Odd how you (me) just overlook nicks in the paint (touch up, though) but a dent, a FUCKING DENT! which is normal makes me clench my teeth and growl. A 50-buck dent is going to morph into a 3k paint job.

I used to stress over nicks, chips and scratches. Then I realized that it is a material object and that I can't protect it 100% of the time from the world. Once you accept that, you can get to enjoying (beating) the car. lol

I know a guy named Josh Ramos that does dent removal. He is my go-to guy for all of my paint touch up, and a few days ago I got a dent (and chip) from a small metal piece of debris hitting my driver's side fender.
He is mobile, and so he can come to your place or meet you at a preferred location. I don't have his email address, but I can give you his cell phone number if you're interested in contacting him. Here is a before and after image of the small dent I had. It wasn't very noticeable without the light on it, but it still bothered me. Before: http://i.imgur.com/Kvjf8Xm.jpg After: http://i.imgur.com/uJIOB5C.jpg The chip is still there in the after process, but he did an excellent job removing the dent - it's like it was never there. I hope that helps you some - I don't have any experience with shops doing a job like that personally, but I prefer not to bring my car into a shop if possible as I always seem to find one or two scratches or marring even from shops that have come highly recommended to me. Good luck! |

How much did that run you? I have a door ding from someone opening their door into my car and was wondering a ballpark on what a dent that small costs to repair

Edit: whoops, got the price wrong - I just remembered I gave him a bit of extra cash to keep the paint he mixed for me and a special brush he gave me so that I can do my own touch up if I want to in the future. Fixed now. Last edited by Ammunition; 03-29-2014 at 03:18 AM. |
