I doubt think this car would be a great target for thieves. Here are the top 10 most stolen cars from 2012:

1. Honda Civic (1995)
2. Honda Accord (1991)
3. Toyota Camry (1989)
4. Ford F-150 (1997)
5. Chevrolet C/K 1500 (1994)
6. Acura Integra (1994)
7. Dodge Ram Pickup (2004)
8. Nissan Sentra (1994)
9. Toyota Pickup (1988)
10. Toyota Corolla (2007)

So the most stolen car is a 19 year old Honda Civic. Not a Porsche. Not a Corvette. A Civic. And #2 and #3 are an Accord and a Camry.

Thieves most often steal cars to chop them up for parts, and these are the cars that are still on the road after a decade or two and owned by people who do their own work and buy used parts for them (or take them to cheap mechanics who buy used parts). There aren't really that many twins on the road in comparison, so there's not a huge market for used parts and therefore little reason to steal them. The few professional thieves who steal high-end cars like Porsches and ship them out of the country are not likely to steal this car because it costs so little that they won't make any money off it.

The only people I would really be worried about stealing this car would be joyriders just taking the car for the thrill and ditching it somewhere later. With the anti-theft measures on the car, your typical teenage joyrider isn't going to be able to take it unless they carjack you, in which case there are other methods of preventing that from happening.

The biggest threat is vandalism from a joyrider's attempt to get access to your car, or someone attempting to carjack you (since they may try to carjack you for reasons other than they want your car... they may want YOU to drive them off and they'll then kill you or rob you, or they just want to kill someone, or they want an escape vehicle for themselves).

So, basic anti-intruder security and immobilizer for preventing the joyrider, insurance and a dash cam to cover against vandalism, and get your CCW, a gun and training to handle a carjacker (bullets to the face do a wonderful job of permanent deterrence).

I am soooooooo worrying about my wheels.

Just order a set of TE37SL, and I live in NJ and NY. Not all people here are honest.

Do tell how it was "almost" instead of "actually."

It was raised up by a tow truck and got there right before they drove off and stopped them.

So they were trying to steal it, or was it an attempt at a legit tow?

They were trying to steal it. I didn't call for a tow and I was legally parked.

Ah. Bummer there's not much else to it. Like beating them senseless with car parts or something

So I have read stories of two FR-Ss get stolen, but how about BRZs with the keyless entry?

I am guessing....... No

I dont even lock my car when I go into the store sometimes and leave the windows down.
What are they going to do steal my armrest? Oh... that's right I dont have one....

Another reason why the push button is awesome, if someone car jacks you most likely you didnt take the keys off your person when you got into the car, so you can just get out, give them the car and meet them back up a few blocks down with the cops after the car shuts off, lol
