No one believed me when I said there wasn't going to be THAT much of a difference in price and it appears it may be true. Yes, the BRZ comes with a few more gizmos than the FRS, but I did mention that they weren't gonna price it $2k over the FRS. My theory is correct (so far), I'm #2 in line for a BRZ at my local dealer and will happily drive away in it as others wait.

And the forum does not have an "I told you so" dance icon?? What's up with that.

I'm with Deuce... Glad I made my decision early and acted on it.

As I understand it, the idea of the car was discussed and then scrapped. Then Subaru came to Toyota with their first Legacy based prototype they built and Toyota jumped on board. The project makes a lot of sense for Subaru and I think they were very excited to do it. The DI technology alone was a deal maker for them business wise. Not to mention that this is basically a stepping stone to the next wrx/sti platform.

I believe that scion with have an more open stock of fr-s on the lot than subie will have the br-z. Seems like if there going to be a turbo version(most likely sti) it will be a late 2013 or early 2014 model, pretty much if ur gonna own a br-z when it first comes out keep it stock or close to sell it privately and go order the sti version. Which will probbly have around 260 hp and 200, conservative of course.

Subaru= Sti Turbo
Scion= Trd Supercharger

Subaru has been saying 25K for a while now. Not sure why it's news now.

For me it's just a big relief after yesterday's speculation that the BRZ Premium might be almost 27k since the FR-S is so expensive. Now that Subaru has put it back into the 25k range, I'm a cool cat again. :happy0180:

I wouldn't get your hopes up guys. Where is the source? All it says is "Subaru says", which for all we know could be referring to vague statements from last year. This is probably just a quick article meant to capitalize on the FR-S news. If Subaru did make an official comment about the price or the turbo, it would be in more places then just "USA Today".

'About' $25k, like the Scion was going to be 'low $20s'? $24.2k is closer to 20k than 30k after all...

I second that statement lol :happy0180:

Scion was suppose to price the car at 23k but who knows maybe because of cost it went up or maybe they found out they can get more money.

maybe they were waiting on pre-orders to see how they should price either break even or make profit in this case they seem to pick the later

Right which really means Subaru will want $25,999. I'm pretty torn, 25k is what I expected the limited to be, I really wanted the cost to be closer to 22k for the base model, which is exactly why Im /considering/ the veloster but there is still a lot to look into.
