Exclamation Perrin Catback Exhaust too quiet, suggestions?

Hey Guys I recently got a Perrin Catback exhaust (resonated) installed on my FRS and I feel it needs to be a bit more lively, I like the mature tone but sometimes it just isn't loud enough. If I am playing the radio at a decent volume I can barely even hear the exhaust.

I'm not looking for anything extremely loud to the point it will attract unwanted attention, but the Perrin Catback resonated only sounds slightly better than stock after the engine has warmed up. I will say the Perrin sounds awesome on a cold start though

I'm not an expert at any of this... I have looked into the Borla UEL header but was wondering if there are any other suggestions on making the car a bit 'lively'.

Thanks for your help!

You might be able to swap the resonated mid pipe with someone for a non-resonated.

Too bad you live where they have emissions. I have the Borla header, catless Invidia front pipe, and resonated Perrin cat-back...Zomg the noise..I love it!

There are many options for making the car louder, that is not a problem:

- non-resonated midpipe
- header (UEL for rumble)
- front pipe

The latter two will remove/replace a cat, so if emissions are a concern, your best bet is the Perrin non-resonated midpipe. I've got that setup and it's about 10% too loud for me. I live in a townhouse community and my wife thinks it wakes up the neighbors on cold starts. I just bought a resonated midpipe so we'll see if that solves the issue.

I'm not sure what you consider loud, OP, but don't be that guy that all of the neighbors hate, or that all of the passersby on the street laugh and make jokes about "compensating for something."

I personally enjoy a quiet exhaust. I don't want to hear my exhaust over my radio.

But hey, different strokes. All the suggestions provided will give you a louder exhaust note.

As a lot of others have already stated, you can either swap with someone for an unresonated midpipe, or you can add additional exhaust parts.

Adding a header of any type along with a front pipe will definitely make your vehicle much louder.

There is also our 3" versions of the exhausts! Keeps the same deep tone, but with a bit more noise.
