Thanks, but I have some plans the next few upcoming weekends.

On a side note, for the rest of you not on the facebook group, Touge Factory announced it's meet up for may 4th.

Hey Guys,

My name is Dan and I've had my FR-S for just over a month now. Absolutely LOVE IT! Anyway thought I'd introduce myself to this thread since I'm in Chicago too.

Btw skimming through the thread I noticed you guys like to call out when you see other FR-S/BRZ's on the road. If any of you saw an asphalt stalling like crazy on 90/94 the first 2 weeks of February that was me, lol. Long story short I've been looking into this car for a while and knew I wanted to get it in Manual so I started practicing.. thing is, I negotiated a great deal with a dealership and ended up getting the car sooner than I expected. So driving off with my brand new FR-S was only the third time ever that I've driven stick, haha. Anyway totally used to it now and actually can't imagine ever going back to Automatic. I had to move my old Automatic car the other day and my left foot didn't know what to do with itself.. As soon as I got in the car by instinct my left foot found its way on top of the brake pedal, lol.

Also just a heads up I'm going to be asking you guys a lot of stupid questions, lol. I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to cars but still there's definitely things that I want to do with my car.

For example, does anyone have any recommendations on where to take my FR-S locally to get mods installed? I plan on buying this but I'm on the fence whether or not I should do it myself or take it somewhere to be done by a professional.

Do you guys think I should just do this myself? I just worry I'm going to make a mistake and scruff up my new car because of some stupid mistake like not removing the front panel properly or something.

Welcome to the both of you!

Well, there's always a possibility, and you've already exhibited a fair amount of confidence in yourself and your ability to suck it up and jump right in.
There's always a chance you'll make a mistake. Even the most seasoned DIY'ers do. There's also plenty of shops that can do it for you, if you don't want to take the chance. I can't imagine it taking more than a couple hours.

Some of our members get together and help each other with installs from time to time, so keep an eye on this section, get out to some of the local meets and check out the "Upper Midwest FR-S / BRZ / FT-86 Owners" Facebook Group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/uwmfrsbrz/

I spent more time on my motorcycle today, but driving the BRZ in ~60 degree weather was fantastic. The car feels even better when its at this temperature!

Anyone hitting up autocrosses soon?
