Who is running in Stockton this weekend? I will be there Sunday for my first event and would appreciate any pointers (driving, course work, etc)

Also, if you haven't seen the board is thinking of allowing oil/tranny coolers in ST in the latest fast track. Link below along with link to submit your opinion.

Im probably going to run CS. My dad might come out with his S2000 he just bought. So depending on what group he falls in I may change to STX. I dont really care about trying to win because im not good enough yet lol

I bet it doesn't happen. I don't think it's a big deal but it sorta goes against the whole idea of ST* which is a street legal DDable car.

Oil coolers aren't street legal?

But if thats the case what about full exhausts (here in CA and some other states) or suspension (I think Hawaii has that stuff rough if I'm not mistaken).

The people that make the rules for SCCA, SEB, believe an oil cooler doesn't fit in with the whole mentality of Street Touring. There's a few rules that are allowed in the class but are illegal for the street. Some states won't allow you to modify engine tuning or the touch cats, but you're allowed to for Street Touring. That's just how it is. SEB isn't going to change the rules just because a few states don't allow what other states allow for the road.

I'll be in town, but most likely (if at all, depending on family plans) will be doing Sunday. Too bad, I'd like to get some more pointers from ya @finch1750 which day are you doing?

I will be there Sunday. Saturday I'm going to the Meng meet at Le Mans. I think @mkiisupra should give in to peer pressure and come out sunday to show me the ropes and share his wisdom with us. Lol

Are you STX or CS?

Well crap, fellas-

I will run STX or CS. I am not married to points at all, but I do try to run in the second run group to be done in the morning and to watch others while working first. Lemme check the situation, and I may come out to both or just Sunday, as CS is the better classing for my car. BTW, there are no ropes for me to share, but thanks for the compliments. I am constantly learning as well.

Not sure who you are asking, but I'm in FR class (Fun run ). But seriously, I think I'm technically in CS but they don't really care once they know you are in the fun run group.

Well stx and cs are afternoon on sunday. I dont really care about points (i am technically stx due to springs). Can you do wrong run group if you are fun run only? I would prefer morning as well.

And you both could definitely show me some ropes, as I will have no idea what to do when my work group is up. Lol

I believe I was able to run with a different group since I was only fun run (Oakland). You just make sure to sign up for the morning work group so you could work the course at the correct time.
