Uh well, when I bought mine at the dealer in 2010 with 3 miles on it, it was under 30K. 28.9k if I recall correctly.

And really, who pays MSRP on a car?

Will Canadian pricing be released tom too? If Scion does Canada a solid and makes pricing on Par, I will buy this car, if not...

But then again I can imagine the bitching & moaningg.

26500 is still pricy at a low. Thats what... 32 on the road? 8-10k extra still gets me a nice 128. Decisions.
I drove my buddies 128i...IMHO it's definitely not worth the extra 8-10k. Sure the power is better, and you are getting an inline 6, but that's about it. A Japanese sports car will be a much better investment down the road than a BMW. And in terms of handling, i wouldn't be surprised in the FRS handled as well, if not better. Plus the 128i has no LSD, and good luck trying to fit one aftermarket...it's almost impossible....and under hard cornering the car looses traction.

Damn that dealer must have given you a good deal then GJ. We are comparing MSRP+Destination Fees not invoice pricing. And If I recall correct a 2010 Z Base was still 30K+ MSRP thats a fact. A person can haggle a lower price of course, which in your case you did. Scion has a Pure Price model so what you see is what you pay; although, if they had invoice pricing I'm sure it would come 2-3k cheaper which puts it around where people want it to be.

I didn't think you were saying it want a sports car. I'm just saying all 911 models fall into the category of a pure sports car including the turbo model. there are several trim levels and some may be faster than others and lighter than others but in the context of this discussion they are all pure sports cars. the gtX series is the only one which may fall into the sub category of track car but definitely still a true sports car and not a gt or other sub set as discussed above .

My bosses BMW must not be a sports car because it weight too much according to you. I guess then the Civic SI is a sports car because it has the same HP and is similar in size.

There are not really many sports cars in the market at all in reality. There are some don't get me wrong, but not many. Some may have a similar "feel" of a sports car, but that alone does not make a sports car.

Also, I'll see what I can do with the BRZ since I'll actually be able to negotiate even if it's a little. I'd rather at least have some power in my court rather than having to deal with the Pure Pricing bull shit.

What does your boss drive? A Z4M? M3? I would love to drive a Z4M to see how those things feel even though some would call them overweight because they weigh 3330 lbs.

Not to be a downer, but I'm pretty sure that with the low supply of BRZ (rumored to be at 6,000 this year) Im pretty sure that dealers are not going to negotiate the price at all. In fact, its more likely that there will be a premium for it and they will charge over sticker.

lol off the top of my head I don't remember :x. He's modded it a bit and takes it to the track at VIR every month or so. The problem is that I don't think you can base it solely off weight and size. It would have probably more to do with times around the track.

No I know. Day 1 I doubt there will be much negotiation, but one can try. I will defiantly not pay over sticker and will fight to try and get it as close as I can to invoice. If I have to wait a year, I will. There are also about 4-5 Suby dealers in a 20-30min drive area from where I live, so I have options.

I can't wait to spend $30k on a purist sports car like my MR2 but brand new and with all the amenities of my Audi. It's going to be brilliant! If I could afford to finance an Audi things would be different (I'd be looking at an Elise/S2000 CR as a toy and keeping an Audi for a DD) but I can only have one car that does both, and I think this one ticks the boxes! (BRZ in my case)

Edmunds seemed to be very close to the correct pricing back in October. Hmmmmmm.

I think pricing is spot on. I am happy with my current car so I probably wont be in the market until a year from now. But hey if it's too much, give it two years I'm sure you will see the occasional used one.
