Both of those look great, but I think the Type 2 looks fantastic.

I didn't know there was a Type II. How does it differ? I had the Type I I believe. Anyways, I took my BRZ up over 100 mph many times, and it never ever felt weird to me or like I needed more downforce in the rear. Must have been dat Limited spoiler.

No, it was the 14lbs you had over the FR-S and BRZ Prem!

Before I even started shedding weight, I kind of suspected I might need one. Now that I've done a lot in the rear, I definitely need one. It only takes the tiniest bump and my back end will bounce up so ridiculously easily. I should not be doing 60mph burnouts on Nitto NT01's with maaaybe 180whp, but I am. Shit's bananas. I know a lot of that could be solved through a proper suspension tweaking, but I've got the dampening set to max soft (which is what I think would be the direction to go to reduce that) and it still happens.

But it's not just the bumps. Hitting some tiny bumps yesterday was just what pushed me over the edge and caused me to make the purchase. The rear end just gets too light in high speed corners, and while accelerating through elevation changes, it likes to break loose. If you were to drive the car, I'm pretty sure you would agree. I'm no sensitive race car driver or anything, but it seems pretty obvious that downforce at speed would solve the problem.

Yep. Totally felt this the first time I got on the interstate (which was like 2 months after driving the car). My friend, @Munki actually pointed it out from his bone-stock-at-the-time FR-S, before I even got up to high speeds in my own car.

I think Anthony should go with a custom mounted Lotus Elise diffuser...

He's already running a Lotus steering wheel, might as well run a Lotus diffuser, right?
That. Looks. AWESOME! Funny thing is, I actually considered one of those diffusers back in about July of last year. Very familiar with Difflow. But I decided back then that I want to make my own diffuser from scratch. People keep suggesting the Driveway Labs one to me, but I want to go the DIY route.

LOOOOL! Since we all know the CEL is a given. Funny thing is, I've never seen one. Ran all my aspiration mods, flywheel, and pulleys on the stock tune for over 1,000 miles and still never saw one. Finally got tired of waiting to see how long it would take and went ahead and installed my OpenFlash tune that I'd been sitting on for weeks.

I didn't either. I can't watch the video right now either. I intend to make one that looks more like the Ferrari 458 one. Nice and curvy. Even the aftermarket Lotus one has a hard angle. Better than flat, but curves are always better than hard angles, from what I understand.

I was talking to my friend about this. He has a BRZ and said the same thing. Deh fuq.

We ordered the stock FRS spoiler when we bought the car, and drove with no spoiler for two weeks. We ordered it because we thought it looked better, but we're surprised to notice such a big difference on the freeway after it was installed. It's much more settled with even the stock spoiler.

I'll be interested to see what your custom solution looks like Anthony since we're also thinking of custom fab.

Truth.
My BRZ is super smooth at speed (even up to 120mph) but a little more stability in the rear is never a bad thing. Remember that there is a little more aero on the BRZ limited than just that tiny spoiler. It has a lower coefficient of drag than the premium model.

@Anthony, after lowering my car, the handling on higher speeds (120mph) seems more stable in my opinion, i haven't tried going 130 mph , where the problem actually was. I figured a front diffuser, a rear spoiler (and possibly a rear vallance) would help a lot

I was taking it to work every Friday. My boss celebrates Hawaiian Shirt Fridays, I started implementing Race Car Fridays. Then the Tiburon started leaking oil and I took my time fixing it. I just got it handled last week, so I was "forced" to DD the FR-S for over a month and a half. There were only 2 problems with DD'ing it:

1. I didn't like putting dumb ass commuting miles on it.

2. Everyone in Mississippi drives trucks or SUV's. Slowly. I end up spending most of my time in the car pissed off at everyone on my daily commutes.

Oh. Well mine starts to feel like there are crazy cross winds once I get to about 75 or so. I would blame it on lightness if there really were cross winds, but usually there aren't.

I would assume your exhaust choice has affected that some too since the factory muffler is a rear diffuser (sort of).

Nah, the problem was pre-exhaust.

Maybe it really is the area difference of the BRZ then. I am not exactly sure though since the fastest I have been in an FR-S was ~60.
