You beat me to it... as to the 911/GT3 distinction, the GT3 belongs to an extreme subset of the "pure sports car" category - "track car" might be a good term, defining it by its primary purpose.

The 911 is still a GT sports car. Porsche made it softer than the GT3 on purpose to appeal to a broader audience. I have never seen a review where one can say the GT3 isn't a pure sports car in comparison to the base 911. Face it, automakers want to appeal to a broader audience so they softened up and optioned out cars and they become GT Sports cars. I even felt the Rx7 was more purer than the RX8 with back seats and back doors and other features added.

no options. lots of dealer installed accessories. fog lights, spoilers, air dams, interior lighting, etc will all be available just like every other scion. they may not be ready at launch but definitely within a month or two.

Personally, I think this car is priced too high for what it is. Keep in mind the FRS is the lowest trim of this car as well. Do I think it's going to be a good car? Yes, it should be a ton of fun to drive. However, the pricing just put it in a weird area. I mean, if you wanted to spend less you could get a civic SI, GTi, or mazdaspeed 3. Yes, they are FWD, but they offer similar, if not better, performance. But then there are gencoupes which are RWD and close to the same price. Then for the price of the FR-s, you could get a WRX. I don't see the FR-s being a better PERFOMANCE car over a wrx, but hey people will buy the cars they love

Too much bitching & complaining bout FR-S price but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. ![]() I'm just glad that Toyota & Subaru is actually making a car for this niche segment. |

Seeing that there are 30 or so pages to this thread and no one is reading more than the first, and the last 2 or 3, at best, here's what I have to say. Remember when ''The Dictator'' was on the red carpet for the Oscars, and was asked why his socks were from Target and not some high end fashion house, and he's like, ''Hey, Saddam Husein once told me, socks are socks, why waste money'' that was one of the greatest ad lib lines of all time. ![]() I'm sorry but all this bickering is a bit of a waste.
