True for most people but if you know what to look for...
Minimal or no cosmetic mods also add to the stealth.

Just wanted to stop by once again.

After a full day with @DeliciousTuning yesterday, we where able to get my maps updated along with adding two more on just E85. I will be posting two E85 maps one on my 6psi actuator and one at 13psi with EBC. I am still waiting to receive my other two dyno charts on 91 Wastegate and 9PSI. Car was Dyno'd on a Mustang Dyno so it does not show Corrected value's. Will be taken to BisiMoto so I can use his dyno to get Real Numbers.

My current mods are AVO STG1 Turbo Kit w/ 6PSI Actuator, OEM Injectors, OEM MAP Sensor, DW65C Fuel Pump, ACT 6 Puck HD Clutch. AVO Air Filter, AVO 2.5" Overpipe and Non-Catted Frontpipe, Miltek 2.5" Non-Resonated Exhaust.

As you can see below I ran into Back Pressure in my Exhaust. Gotta play a wee bit with the EBC to get 13psi sooner to have a straight line. Im about 8/10 on my injectors.

(Disclaimer Currently had about E60-E65 in my car at the time of tuning.)

This was definitely one of the most complicated tunes to date that we have done. To give you an idea we set the tune up as follows.

This vehicle (dyno chart above) has 4 switchable maps.
Map #1 is set to wastegate pressure on 91 octane
Map #2 is set to ~10 PSI using an EBC through the ECU.
Map #3 is set to wastegate pressure on E60/E65 octane
Map #4 is set to ~13 PSI using the EBC through the ECU.

To boot the tune was developed as a Flex Fuel package. So when this car moves over to FlexFuel it is as simple as installing the FlexFuel changing a couple parameters in the ECU and now there is a FlexFuel setup built right now.

Yeah this was my brain work out for the day. Along with making it drivable in all conditions for both 91 octane and E85 while maintaining a decent MPG for both 91 and E85.

Definitely a nice challenge.

Cheers,
William Knose

I'm loving the Tune more and more! Can't wait to add the rest of the items we talked about and get it back to you!

Thanks again!

Sounds like a great setup. Congrats to @DeliciousTuning and @DesertFrs.

Can I ask why you are still on the OEM Map Sensor?

Haven't been on here in a while, and this seems to be a bit of a hot topic... But what's the latest in gasket fixes? I've blown the turbo gasket twice now, not the block to header gasket but the gasket between the headers and the turbo. Both times have been at the track pushing hard, but was wondering if anyone else had experienced it or had any recommended fixes. I'm not using an AVO gasket anymore, swapped to a garret gasket after the first failure and still blew a decent hole in that.

Is it melting or what ?

You might have very high EGTs that are causing it to disintegrate, but that is just a guess

Thank you!

Let me start off by saying Thank you! The reason why I still have the Stock Map Sensor and some other OEM parts that usually get swapped out by other enthusiasts when they go boosted is because I'm testing the max capacity of each oem part along with turbo kit. It wasn't till now that we might have to switch it when we take it back to get another tune with some update parts. I still have to look for a map sensor that I like.

From tuning Subaru's for many years, the MAF sensor does 99% of all the work in controlling fuel, timing, cams and even boost (load). So with that in mind we use the MAF sensor to control everything (even fail safes).

We could run a larger MAP sensor but just have not found a need to besides getting an actual real boost value for the customer. So we are working on finding a solid solution for this application to cover all basis.

Cheers,
William Knose

Something like that. My exhaust has always been hot, in fact it was so hot it turned my kakimoto titanium exhaust from blue tips to all blue.

It turns out I'd done a little more than a gasket this time. I'd cracked my dump pipe, we think because there was no flex at all in my exhaust system anywhere (AVO dump pipe, custom 3 inch overpipe and high flow catted font pipe finished off with amuse R1 titan 70mm catback). So we're adding a flex joint in front of the high flow and then I'll track it again and see if that makes a difference.
Just noticed that the new AVO 3inch front/overpipe/dump pipe has a flex joint in it already so maybe I'm not the only one who's had issues.

I twisted the last wrench on my AVO install Sunday and loaded the last of a few rom files Monday morning. Paul sent me the file on a Sunday night which is just another reason why I wanted to say how happy I am with my purchase from AVO turbo world and how great the support was. Kudo's Paul.. everyone else, go get this kit!

A local tuner called Tokyo Motorsports has done my custom tune... But I'm not going to recommend them or bag them out as my opinions on their tune are a bit love hate. It's a good tune for power and fun but has some holes.

I've been investigating other tuners so make of that what you will.
