You've been looking at "bottom of the barrel" wheels, I think you should seriously consider upping your budget for wheels or else it will cost you more in the long run. XXR and Bremmer Kraft are just going to crack, or bend - they are unsafe. Look into RPF1 @ around 1000-1400 depending on size if you want an entry level wheel. They are very strong, and still one of the lightest wheels on the market.

The downside to lower end wheels is that they are usually heavier and have a less durable and/or nice finish.

Hundreds of thousands of people run XXRs and other branded knockoffs including Bremmer Kraft, and if they were really "unsafe" they wouldn't be for sale. If the wheels are sold by a reputable retailer, then they are JWL, VIA etc. inspected and certified to meet safety standards. Buying some random no name wheels with no JWL, VIA etc. stamping from some shady guy is another story.

If you hit a deep pothole at a bad angle or go off the road, it doesn't matter what wheel you have, it will be damaged and bend, that's just physics. The stronger the build and material will mean it may not crack as bad, and may eat the impact better, but there will still be damage. For every picture of broken or bent low end wheels you will find a picture of broken or bent high end wheels.

Point is anything you buy from a dealer or retailer is completely safe for road use, the wheels will not just break or bend while driving unless they come into contact with something. Buy what you like in your budget, but if you care about performance of the car consider weight and size of the wheel. The wheels you like weigh in fairly heavy compared to the wheels they emulate and need to be 18x9 +42 to have that concave look in the picture.

Replica wheels don't have the same panache that comes along with buying something by Volk or Advan, and the replicas probably weigh a little more too. Aside from that, I find it VERY hard to believe that a large multi-national company would produce and sell an un-safe wheel.

Is it your honest opinion that there are companies out there are making wheels that will crack and bend under stress, but they're still in business? Sounds like tinfoil hat material

Or if you want the same style, get Enkei TSP6. Then you get the Enkei quality, cheaper than Rays...

There are always defenders of these cheap replica wheels. They are not dangerous until shit happens to you.

If you can't afford proper quality aftermarket wheels, just stick with the stock ones there's nothing wrong with that. OEM wheels are engineered to deform in a particular way in the event of an accident that is safe.

Don't modify just for the sake of modifying. My 2 cents.

As for me I'm too poor to buy cheap, and I buy quality things not to impress others but to impress myself.

I tried the Bremmers because I preferred the offset to the real version, and 9" is plenty wide enough for my needs. Finish is high quality. I'll admit that any gravity cast wheel scares me somewhat. I've had Enkei's shatter on me... so I take these pics with a grain of salt. Bremmers are made by ASA. Not top shelf, but I wouldn't consider them dangerous. They weight a lb more than the real deal, and are 0.5' narrower. So they are not designed to be abused, but there have been a lot of happy Bremmer owners for many years with zero complaints.
