Unfortunately RRR is no longer running events. Maybe they will again in the future (had lots of fun instructing with them) but as for now the are not and that's why I didn't include them in the initial posts.

Get instructed by James Clay?!!

Big news. At the IRDC driver's school on the 5th we are making this announcement:

Quote:
James Clay of Bimmerworld will be in town for the enduro on Sunday and has agreed to instruct for us on Saturday the 5th. What we plan is to do is a drawing of the names of those signed up for the competition school and select four drivers. Those four will have James in their car for one session during the day. For those of you who don't know who James is, here is a link to the Bimmerworld website:

http://www.bimmerworldracing.com/james-clay.html

James owns Bimmerworld and they are a long time sponsor of Pro3 and supporter of Conference racing.
Now that is cool.

This is why I love running with the BMW crowd- Quite a few Pro3 drivers are the instructors, and those cars are pretty similar to ours- RWD, lower HP, lighter weight. After riding in a few pro3 cars, I'm sold- I'm running with BMW all summer Hoping to branch out after I get my feet wet with them.

ATTN Seattle folks: JUNE 13TH!!!

IRDC Competition driving school and Test and Tune

https://www.motorsportreg.com/events...-events-772740

This event is:

-Competition school with morning instruction and instructor. (HPDE, but this would qualify you for a novice license if you ever wanted to pursue that.)

-Test and Tune for full prepped race cars (separate run group)

Thinking about racing in the future? Then sign up for the school and get your Novice license.

Don't miss it!

Here's the schedule to give you an idea of track time:

Edit reason: categorical corrections.

Thanks for putting this thread together. What would be incredibly helpful, and may be asking too much, but a brief review or comparison of the available tracks. For instance, I'm trying to decide between Ridge and Pacific, and I'm trying to find first hand reviews of the two tracks.

Also, any thoughts on whether stock brake pads can handle either of the above tracks? (I was a somewhat experienced HPDE driver, but it's been almost 10 years and in much heavier/higher HP cars).

Apologies if this is considered a threadjack...

Get better pads. There's a lot of threads and recommendations in the Tracking/HPDE subforum. Definitely search in there.

There's already a video of The Ridge posted above. As you can see it's technical, it fun and very forgiving. Not as close as PR, but worth the drive.

PR, is more technical IMHO and it's far less forgiving. Treat it with more respect but it's a fantastic track with good facilities.

Here's a lap at PR. Don't pay too much attention to my line as this is during a race and I'm doing a lot of defending. Look at the back section and you can see how there's little room for error and how tall the curbing is in T5a, T5b and T6.

Original thread update to reference:

NASA NW will not be hosting events in 2015. Just an FYI.
