So i took a picture of where it happened , and if you look closely you can see where my tires went. It was a combination of that puddle and the dirt the followed, which explains the understeer and why the car didn't react. well, i guess it was just really bad luck and timing.

Yea, they eventually gotta charge you a bit more to compensate for the cash-out, but they still want to keep your business so it's not in their best interest to jack up your rates ridiculously.

Tromatic is probably hinting that there's some shenanigans going on in regards to the insurance. The car should be registered in the place that it's primarily parked. Your uncle's insurance company might not do any investigating, but being in another state could set off some bells.

1) When you encounter understeer, let off the throttle. DO NOT APPLY THE BRAKES. Off-throttle will recover the fastest, while lowering your steering input some. This gives the car the most amount of time and least resistance to re-gain traction, and at ~30mph, the car will recover traction very, very quickly and you'll be on your way.
2) Don't INCREASE steering input during an understeer, it will prolong the understeer event. Don't INCREASE tire loading in any way. It sounds like you did both- turned harder, and pressed the brakes hard. You need to train yourself not to panic and steer away from the curb more and slam on the brakes. You WILL crash. Which leads me to my 3rd pont- 3) Go to a car control clinic hosted by your friendly local BMW, Porsche, or other enthusiast driving club. They will teach you how to counter understeer, oversteer, extreme braking maneuvers, and many other scenarios. I personally consider this mandatory driver training for anyone that is on the road. Costs $100, and literally saves every driver that takes it many thousands of dollars in repair costs, insurance rate increases, etc. ALL BRZ/FR-S drivers need this training- I can tell you the vast majority of the accident threads I've seen all can be corrected with a simple understanding of how to correct understeer or oversteer properly. People have learned how to drive with nannies for the last decade, and this has removed the knowledge of how to actually drive your car from the general population. Now you just turn the wheel and press the pedals, instead of DRIVE.

Feel ya. I pulled in to work one morning, totally wide awake, and grabbed a corner spot in the lot. As I pulled in, thinking there was plenty of room, I scraped the front right. When I got out it was probably about 3 times the size I suspected. Luckily I was able to cover it up with a touch up pen.
I totally understand that your problem is bigger. But we all make mistakes. You'll never catch me pulling into a spot that quick again. Ever...

This type of thing happens to everyone eventually. All suspension is stamped steel on the front. Looking at swapping in new control arms bolts, end links, strut, wheel bearing maybe steering rack. Only about 1k right there. Sheet metal is sheet metal no biggy.
Take it in stride, learn from it fix the pile and get back on the road.
