Do you remember how much they subtracted from $30K when BMW 128i first came out? There is an eerie similarity here.

Predictions that they pulled out of thin air, with hopes and dreams of a pure sports car priced the same as a well equipped civic. :P it's silly to have "righteous indignation" about a price that was within established expectations (minus the wishful thinkers that pulled the 22k number out of thin air)

Can't believe people actually like fog lights. Waste of money and weight in my opinion.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if Scion possibly says the FRS is not part of that deal (ala BRZ not part of VIP pricing).

Those who really want to get a Hyundai by all means go get one! If you think you can't afford one, then by all means wait! Ah man, the benefits of being older and wiser!
No. At the average loan term of 60 months you'd only add another $600 using your math, and not counting interest. $20 a month extra is more like it.

Hell, I can only imagine how Scions twitter feed is looking right now!

Doesn't really matter. I can see all the scions FB posts being deleted by the time they realized what is going on...

Pardon my ignorance. What's a GC?

And to the guy who is considering a Velostar instead. Really? The whole concept of the FR-S/ BRZ is RWD isn't it. Why would anyone considering the FR-S consider a (boring) FWD car? I don't get it. Too each there own but you've lost me with this thought.

Man I have to tell you I have been trying to calm the itch to buy an MR2 and tear into it as a project/autox car and just buy some econobox.

Think positive. The higher the price the less amount of ricer teenagers will be able to afford one in short term.
