I wouldn't assume that this car is crashed more often than any other new car just from reading on the stories that get posted here. This is an enthusiast's car, and people are going to talk more about it when things happen.

I doubt you have many people posting on message boards when they crash their Corollas. For all we know, other cars may be more accident prone, yet we never hear about them because who cares.

i have no idea why there is so much hate on the primacy's. i swapped back to them during before a good snow storm came through and I was amazed at how much traction they had. compared to the RE070's I was using, they could be used in any adverse weather condition.

Your location is listed as Alabama. A location that barely sees sub freezing temperatures.

Please do not claim any adverse weather condition, it is terrible advice. It isn't valid for the south and it certainly isn't in places that actually see a winter with more than an occasional dusting.

This car is not safe on either of the factory tires in locations that actually experience winter. The number of I slid and crashed my car lol stock tires threads here and posts on Facebook groups are evidence of this.

This is the kind of shit that only happens when everyone has inappropriate tires for the condition

Driver error/safety features turned off is more at fault than the tires on the car with all of these wrecked car threads.

I originally had issues with the Primacy's until I spent a winter on studded general altimax Arctics. I ran the Primacy's for a couple weeks during nice weather and had zero issues. My opinion on why so many people are crashing, over driving their abilities. Running without TC on probably factors in, even though the car handles like a dream with it off. Unless black ice is involved a uncontrollable crash at under 30 mph is unlikely, not just the OP's accident but the other "slow speed" accidents I've seen on here.

Dont begin to dare think for one second my area does not get ice and snow. Three times this year my area has had 4-6" of snowfall in a single night. it freezes and leaves a solid sheet of ice that lasts for days. my FRS with the primacy tires was the only vehicle at my workplace that made it in every single day.

edit: and the photo means nothing. it was blasted all over cnn, fox, my facebook feeds, etc.

im not saying the primacys are GREAT or even GOOD, im saying theyre not that bad.

So the insurance is going to tow the car to the mechanic that I know, and at least I know it would be good honest work being done , and just hope the insurance doesn't skyrocket. I hope I'm going in the right direction

You're advocating summer tires in winter conditions to strangers on the internet.

That flat out irresponsible, just stop.

Too many people have allready had preventable accidents.

Wow. You got half a foot of snowfall three whole times this year?

Watch out everyone - we've got an expert ice racer over here...

Your ignorance is amazing. We dont have snow plows here, we dont have salt trucks, the entire city essentially shuts down when there is any snow forcast.

The snow tire circle jerk line forms here.

Seriously though, you're comparing the pss an extreme summer tire against an eco summer tire in winter conditions. Wether one is better than the other is irrelevant, they both suck for winter use. No tireshop in their right mind would recommend either for snow/ice use.

Its like asking me wether i'd rather put my **** in a beehive or that fat sitcom actress.

One may be less worse than the other, but neither are a good choice.
