Paint Protection, Detailing and Clear Bra for New Whiteout Monogram

Suggestions for recommended Vancouver Island detailers?

Actually PPF (Paint Protection Film) is a polymer sheet that's applied onto pristine paint. It's a sacrificial barrier that will protect your paint from harsh conditions.

So wouldn't this step at least be done by the dealership, as that is when the paint is actually pristine right from the manufacturer...

The paint has defects in it from the factory..and a shit ton more if you let the dealer wash or detail it.

So what are the steps you guys recommend to take from factory...?

Besides telling them not to wax and detail, would this include not allowing them to unwrap the packaging as well? (I've seen pics on here)

Dealer handled my Celica back in 03 and I don't know exactly what they did except take my money! (I assume scotch guard is a rip off and unnecessary?)

1. Tell dealer to keep all wrapping on
2. Bring to detailer to unwrap, minor paint correct and detail
3. Clear bra install
4. Back to detailer to Opti-coat (I Opti-coated then clear bra then Opti-coat again)
5. Smile at car...frown at bank account

One problem, I have to drive the car from dealership to where I live...How do I do this with all the wrapping still on?

Unless Nanaimo Toyota/Scion has a highly rated detailer they use???

Lol it's not wrapped like a gift. It's just got protective film covering certain areas. You can drive it with the protective film on. No don't use the dealers detailer. Do some research on here and find a good quality local detailer. I think you're over thinking this.

Scotchguard is just a spray on coating that prevents liquids from premeating your seating surfaces so you can wipe them up instead of getting embedded stains. It doesn't last forever, is yet another chemical you're inhaling and is so cheap and easy to do you'd be crazy to pay a dealership to do it for you.

Agreed.

CarPro Fabric and Leather Coating is another great product, costs a bit more but works better in my opinion.

Dealer told me they will not let a car go from the lot without their detailing job. They told me they use Diamond Detailing on the island. I looked them up and they seem pretty meticulous and reputable. So they are going the PDI and the undercoat at the dealer. Then off to Diamond detailing and they are adding Opti-coat and wax on the paint and leather treating the interior.

I was kinda surprised at this, so they must get some sort of kick back. Anyways, I was really surprised when the dealer said that the Paint Protection Film causing fading!!!

If this is so, then why do so many people get it. I am thinking of going to SHC for this, but who knows. My Celica never got PPF and the paint is still immaculate.

Thoughts???
