For around the same price my Celica MSRP'd at in 1999 fully loaded but with more horsepower, a better power to weight ratio, RWD, and probably a ton more aftermarket support I don't really see the problem for myself. I can afford it.
The pricing isn't great but neither is it terrible - I'm still interested Scion. |

i used to think like you, but from the announcement they want to sell 100,000 units annually worldwide, it makes me to think they want to market this as a mass production car, which S2000 certainly wasn't. |

Honestly the difference between 22k and 25k really isn't that much. I have a hard time believing the people who were about to spend 22k on a brand new sports car can't scrape together the change for a 25k brand new sports car. If you really can't afford the 3k difference, just wait for a used one. Everyone will be able to enjoy this car, 25k is a very attainable price for a sports car, especially in today's market.

as others have said, the price is reasonable. sure i would have preferred it lower, but it is reasonable. but i do curse this country for it's stagnant wages which aren't rising as fast as inflation and it's weak economic policy for keeping the dollar so low. there's no benefit for a weak currency unless you export a lot, but this country doesn't manufacture anything to export!
i need to make more money... |

I don't understand everyone's complaints with the pricing. Look at the Mazda RX-8, it's base price is $26,795 and is very similarly equipped to the FR-S/BRZ. I have driven an RX-8 and while the interior was very nice, the Subaru BRZ I sat in blew it away quality and layout wise. This car should be compared with the Mazda Miata and RX-8 and that makes its $24,200 base price pretty good for what you are getting. Sure, I would have preferred a lower price, but after sitting in the car (and hopefully after driving the car) I think it will be worth the price.
