I've used all brands. Not to mess with the crickets but for no reason. All brands makes the crickets sound.

Just embrace the sound.

I said this on the 86 facebook page too.

Our cars have 200 crickets power, not horsepower.

Why? To achieve that low center of gravity.

I took my FRS to the dealership today, they are going to change the fuel pump. I couldn't stand the sound of the crickets.

No worries. It'll come back.

Embrace it.

I just use Sunoco 91 with a Sunoco 100 blend my advisement to octane booster is its pointless find a gas station with 100 it's 6.89-8.89 a gal (depending on location)when octane booster is 9.99 for 16oz? waste of cash for zero difference. 6/91 4.2/100 than you'll feel the difference also, acquire an full cat back and headers to free up flow as well a avo free flow drop in filter these are minor upgrades but, help decently. I suggest you do wheels, rims, tires and suspension first going 225-245/40-45/18(whichever you prefer) gives you a few seconds. When you do get suspension also try to get a full camber kit and turn off your traction control and learn how to drive first I'm reading too many stories about people losing their rear end.

I'm getting crickets as well. I went to the dealer and the service manager told me that it is related to the high pressure fuel pump. According to him, Toyota and Subaru are aware and are working hard to correct the issue. The fuel pump has gone through 3 revisions already, the last being November or December (I forgot which he said).

My 2014 has the new one and it was the first he had seen with the chirping. So they took video of it and sent it back to Toyota for analysis. According to him, when you press the gas and relieve the pressure, you'll notice that the chirping subsides and when you're on idle you'll hear it more. He let me know that as soon as they get a new revision of pump, they'll let me know, but replacing it with what they currently have, won't fix the issue. It'll be silent for around the first 1k miles and then it'll return.

I used Chevron for about 3 tank fills. I don't know if its just coincidence but the crickets became less noisy (still, sometimes they would be loud but not as loud as it was with Shell gasoline) I've been currently using Mobil but crickets seemed to have increased again. I will be giving Chevron a longer run to see if it helps.

I pretty much always use ARCO 91 since I get ARCO gas cards from my company.

Honestly, the crickets come and go with the same gas from same ARCO in front of my house. Sometimes, it's louder, other times, it's pretty non-existence.

Just gotta embrace it guys. It won't go away.

We get crickets sound because our cars are powered by crickets power. Low center of gravity.

For what it's worth, Chevron, along with STP octane booster, chased them away on my '14 with 6k miles.
