Why not buy a used manual Toyobaru, that way you can save some money!
If this won't hurt you financially, why not? Just make sure you want a manual, cause some people hate it in traffic and such(it isn't bad to be honest). |

You can always consider this: SU003-04329 TRANS ASSY/TL7 $6284.78
Straight out of my parts tool at work for a new manual transmission. Doesn't include pedals, clutch, MC, ECM, etc. That's just a new MT gearbox by itself. |

I mean, if I was in your position I'd say it's not worth it, because of the financial comment you made. Sometimes I wish I had an automatic. This was my first manual, but once I learned how to drive it, I couldn't see driving an automatic. I second the guys comment above about trying to trade in for a manual. It may not be as bad of a loss on your end. Nothing wrong with used cars if they were taken care of.

the grass is always greener on the other side. I wouldnt mind trying the auto on a curvy road some time. These autos have paddle shifters right?

Dude, you're asking a bunch of random strangers and teenagers to make financial decision for you. Are you srs? What are you, 12?

I just traded in my WRB Limited Auto 2013 BRZ for a WRB Limited Manual 2014 BRZ, and I couldn't be happier. I drive 130 miles a day through SoCal, shifting isn't terrible at all, and this is my first manual.
Sure, I did lose out on some money, but I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I feel like I'm one with my car more than I was with the Auto. Then again, I'm doing stuff like AutoX every chance I get, and more aftermarket parts and customizations can be had with a Manual, especially looking at the FI options out there. I'd do it again no questions asked. Sure, you may lose out on some money, I sure as hell did, but my driving experience with this car has improved so much. Driving sure isn't boring anymore! Just my $.02. |

ever thought about changing out the final drive? you can swap it out, so the car acts and shifts more like a manual??? i would consider that first before trading in your car. a 4.88FD would drastically change the way ur car shifts, gears 1-2-3 would be pretty bang on to a 6spd.

Do it if you feel if it's worth it...and do it soon before the car depreciates even more.

I totally agree with this sentiment. I posted something along these lines then deleted it. I thought it was too inflammatory but seeing TwinturboCamry's post made me wish I had kept it in.

Go with the car you'll enjoy driving every day, and that you'll stick with for the rest of your life.
Had an auto, traded for manual, no regrets whatsoever ![]() Even in LA traffic. Calms me down sometimes to work a clutch pedal
