Confused yet?
Wut ?

So STI is a higher Trim of the WRX, called STI, and not made by STI, but made by Subaru.

STI TS is Tuned by STI = Really STI.

Then the STI in NA is not really STI. It should be Subaru Tried to Imitate (STI) STI ?

The sub brand would mean more than 1 model with an STI badge on it. Which I think is the hype and hope of the sub-brand.

Which they already have in Japan. What that article should say is whether or not Subaru is capable or willing to mass produce (no longer limited production) and globally launch the STI line-up of complete vehicles (which already includes WRX STI tS, Legacy tS, BRZ tS, Forester tS, and Exiga tS), which in the process could replace the tS designation with "STI" only.

If that's the case, they should merge the WRX STI and WRX STI tS into one model for cohesion.

Granted in Japan they have tS versions of various models.

If STI was its own brand, then there would be more than 1 model with an STI badge on it in the U.S. potentially. Which I think is the hype and hope of the sub-brand is being able to produce, market, and sell those models globally.

Really???, and here until a few years ago I thought the WRX was just a trim level of the Impreza!

Used to be. Impreza was base & WRX was the highest trim for Subaru. When STI (back then was STi) made Impreza WRX STI limited productions so they can use all those parts for WRC (WRC rule required). But it became big hit, so FHI decided to make it mass production.

Ever since then, STI have made different Subaru cars limited productions.

I hope this is a joke.....If so then nevermind this post.

Last time I checked Toyota owns 16.6 percent of FHI. That makes them a "minority" stock holder and not even close to having control.

Just trying to keep the the facts straight.

You need to stop using wikipedia....

Toyota has a 16.48% ownership of FHI, the NEXT highest is "The Master Trust Bank of Japan" at 5.39%.

L2 Read. I said they are a "Majority" stock holder. Which is correct and it would take the next 9 major shareholders to have the same weight as a toyota motor corp vote.

They do not have a controlling interest. And I did mean the largest single stock holder

OK, so you worded it wrong. No problem here. In my business experience, "Majority" stockholder means they own the majority of outstanding stocks or controlling interest in other words.

No need to sling Wikipedia insults. I saw the same list you did with all the shareholders listed. The 16.6 came from and ABC News post from the time Toyota announced their plan to purchase more stock several years ago, which stated that was the intended final expected figure when the added stock purchase was announced.

And is the difference between 16.48 and 16.6 really worth getting upset about? I did say to ignore the post if I misinterpreted it........oh well.

Technically, that makes them a plurality. A majority requires >50%.
