If I understand you correctly it sounds like Perrin is using the stock sized donut. If thats the case its smaller than 2.5" Last time we checked we had our 2.5" front pipe with the bigger ID donut gasket and it fit in the OEM catback. The OD should be the same but with a bigger ID to accept the bigger 2.5" pipe

Can you snap some pics if you get a change

Your quote described it exactly. Factory donut gasket appears to be 2.25" ID, i need a gasket with a 2.5" ID to fit the front pipe. Since JDL does not sell or provide gaskets i'm trying to find out what gasket will fit.

Your front pipe should have a donut gasket. Was it not in the box? Its usually placed on the end of the front pipe. If not we can send you one out.

Nope not in the box. Just triple checked and there was no paperwork, gaskets, bolts or anything provided with my header, over pipe and front pipe. Unfortunately my car is tore apart and i can't wait for shipping. Any idea of factory gaskets that might fit?

What donut gasket am i supposed to use here?
There should have been a 2.5" gasket included in the installation hardware of your Perrin catback. You use that gasket instead of the donut gasket to connect the front pipe to the midpipe, even with a stock front pipe.

Perrin does not include a 2.5" gasket they provided a 2.25" gasket. If you want proof i can show you the gasket they provided that does not fit the 2.5" OD of JDL's pipe.

I found that a Japanese 2002 Honda CRV uses the correct size donut gasket and picked up one of those. $30.00 down the drain.

My problem now is the front pipe does not fit at all to the over pipe. Headers bolted up and torque'd to spec, put the overpipe on and left it finger tight so i could still get a little wiggle room there, the problem seems to be the bracket welded mid-way on the front-pipe doesn't allow me to position the pipe properly. Would really help if JDL had some type of instructions/guide to ensure people like me are doing things properly. Suggestions?

Edit: Here's the problem. The bracket welded the front pipe literally has to be forced over the bracket on the car. It requires force to put on then has extremely limited mobility once mounted. The factory bracket is much larger allowing for wiggle room and adjustability. How am i supposed to fix this?

I stand corrected. It is indeed a 2.25" gasket.

JDL's front pipe is advertised as 2.5" though. Is the piping thinner than the piping on Perrin's catback, or is it 2.5" inner diameter?

JDL is 2.5" off the front pipe vs. stock which is 2.25"

Ok so here's the problem for the record. Awaiting response from JDL since there is absolutely no way the front pipe will fit. Also confirmed with another customer the same exact issue on their front pipe.

Did you try to the bracket on the mount with the front and rear loosen. Everything needs to be loose then tightened. Our brackets are not the same dimensions/size OEM just use the mounting point.
