I'd be interested in knowing where you routed the wires and plugged them in. I wonder if there's a strip that you could buy that changes color based on the rgb values you change. Heh. I think I'll go blue today. Tomorrow. Maybe green or gold. Or something.

Don't let people get you down. It's your car and you can do what you want. People keep telling me to lower my car. It's already plenty low and I'll take my time lowering it when I feel comfortable enough doing it. That being said I have ST coils sitting on the spare bed haha.

I would appreciate that diy. I don't have any pictures but I had blue underglow tubes on my first car. Did the install myself.

is it corny? sure, does it have to be on? no. if it's not on, no one will know its there. further more, i don't really care much, as you see with my thread i do my own thing with the car. i'm glad you guys can all appreciate it, so i'd be happy to help you guys out.

i got all the lighting itself from @f n a automotive, and we installed it together. the strips are mounted with the 3m strips they come with along with crazy glue Lol. no drilling need, just run and tuck wires, hide them all in the trunk.

damn right it is. i'm bringing it back.

Don't worry about haters, there will always be haters.

Its done with a nice color and a slick install, I would certainly like to see more of the install process, and some more information on the parts required.

so pictures might be a while out because i don't have the time, but i don't want to post night time shots.

basically the strips all have wires that run to a control box which i have in the trunk.

the front two strips have wiring ran into the bay, then through the grommet for the sound tube, then along the passenger side of the car into the trunk.

the two sides are ran into the inside of the rear liner, along the side of the car and both go through the grommet in the rear around the bumper beam, that lease RIGHT into the trunk.

the rear strip goes to the same grommet.

its fairly easy, and there isn't THAT much wiring. then i have a switch under my knee pad that turns on the underglow/footwells at the same time. the underglow has a remote, you can literally choose any color of the rainbow, have it flash, dim, strobe, ETC ETC. or if you want to have just footwells off, the remote has an off button so underglow is easily tuned off.

i have it linked that way i don't forget, so if footwells are on, underglow is on by default unless i have it off. i hardly EVER use footwells or underglow so when its on i like to be aware of that.

How much did all of the light strips and control box cost? Also just 6ish colors to choose from or any combination of rgb? Are the foot wells connected the same way for different colors?

you can connect them if you want, my footwells are JUST red.

yes, any combination. so the color pallet is infinite in theory. it ALL depends which control box you get, each one is different. some more flexible than others.

parts wise expect to spend 140-250$ on a quality setup. i can't say what i paid because i honestly don't remember as i did a lot of lighting at once in my car...

which parts exactly would I need to get to do your exact setup? You used strips, but did you have to cut them to size at all? No one is really selling a "kit" with the remote and control box.

diode dynamics has a control box with remote is that like what you have?
http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/l...nd-remote.html

They also have flexible multi color strips.

Then hardwiring everything to a switch by the kneepad.

I assume theres a better option than this?

guys, do you want to give me a few days to toss together a parts list? it turns out i don't have class wednesday so i can snap some photos during the day maybe.

i'll have frank from FNA post up a parts list.

but basically thats the stuff from diode dynamics, but yes there are far better options.

you can mount the switch WHEREEVER you'd like. for me the spot by the knee pads was the most out of the way, clean looking option.

Hey guys!

So Jive told me you guys are very interested in the underglow and looking for some details and what not. What was installed on his BRZ was a test run and actually worked quite well. It's not cheap stuff that we used and is very durable to the elements. He went through a serious winter with the LED underglow kit on his car and it withheld very strong.

As far as details, we use 5 LED strips total. (2) 200cm strips, and (3) 50cm strips. (1) 200cm strip on each side, (2) 50cm strips on the front and (1) 50cm strip in the rear. They all get connected to a single RF controller that is completely wireless with many options of colors and strobing features. All the strips are 3m tape but we used some good superglue to make sure nothing would come off and that worked great.

For anyone interested in an install rather then a DIY, we are located in Central NJ and if you want to come here for an install, we can offer you a great deal (pm for pricing). For those of you looking to do a DIY, we are more then happy to supply a kit for you guys that will include everything you need and we'll try our best to put together an instructional write-up on how it can be installed.

As stated, Jive's car was our first car to test it on and so far no problems at all, so if you guys are ready to purchase something or come for an install, feel free to pm us and we'll get you what you need.

As for warranty, on a DIY we will offer a 1 year limited warranty on all products as long as they don't get damaged in any way, we'll send you new products no questions asked. For an installed kit by us, we will give you a 3 year warranty on all products as long as no damage is visible as stated.

I see you guys have been talking about this for a few pages and it's a lot of questions to answer, so if I didn't answer what you wanted above, shoot me a pm and I'll give you more information.

Thanks
