Man. How rare do you think Rays wheels are? It really isn't that bad.

Driving on cheap coilovers is just as bad as driving on bad tires, or bad wheels.

Also, to whoever compared the purchase of wheels to gay marriage: are you kidding me?
Getting married to whoever you want doesn't affect anybody but the two people involved. Buying knockoffs doesn't help nor support the industry.

I'd argue cheap coil overs are fucking terrible, cheap tires are about as terrible, and cheap wheels chances are will actually end up being fine for the non show crowd.

Not everyone is looking for their **** to be sucked cause of the wheels they bought,

Its cool if that sort of pat on the back is what you're into though.

I've met a couple girls in my time that it would definitely increase your odds of getting your **** sucked if they knew the cost of a set of TE37s on your car...

I just don't like it when they have the original manufactures name on it.

Look at the wheel section right now, there's a guy with BBS reps that have the BBS center caps. Buy all the cheap wheels you want, but don't be a poser about it.

Not the wheels. The cost of the wheels.

Those are replica BJs, though.

Real BJs come from gold-digging tire biters.

But sometimes bad things come from those, too...

I'd rather spend that kinda dough on some real jewelry like an overpriced Swiss watch.

the point is that if someone buys $800 wheels, it has no impact on you at all. why would you care? people and cars have been around for a while. there arent really that many new things people can do to make a new wheel and have people actually want it. in the 70s and 80s all the japanese market did was blatantly copy euro companies. lexus, toyota, nisan, datsun, mazda etc are just shitty knockoffs. we should all be driving bimmers or jags.

I get that it's nicer if you get the real thing, but many people, especially in this economy, can't justify spending that much on something that would serve the same purpose. They get dirty, they serve the same purpose. If I went over a pothole it'd upset me less if I only had to replace a couple hundred dollars worth of wheels versus thousands.

If you can buy the originals, more power to you. But don't knock replicas.
Not like most people would know the difference anyways.

There is always the option to buy an affordable original design.

I cannot afford a Rolex Submariner dive watch. So should I buy a sterile knock off or outright fake?

No. I decided on a Seiko Monster. An original design that fulfills the majority of the Rolex's technical purpose at a fraction of the cost. Without trying to pass itself as a Rolex.

I think I can speak on this. I recently bought a house. And then I bought my FRS. I had to ask the question, which is a better investment. Easily the answer is the house. I know I can make money when I sell. The car is a bunch of steel and aluminum that almost infinitely loses value over time. But the car makes me happy. I get in and shift gears and for a brief moment forget about work and stress. Im free to drive and I think that hits home for alot of us. Whos to say whats right and wrong if we mod our cars in a way that makes us smile when we drive.

I am fortunate enough to have a good job that pays well; I know some of us cant afford that luxury. I will still buy rotas. It is what it is. Whether you want to blow 200 dollars or 2000 dollars, its the drive that unites us, not the dollar sign attached.
