Apex'i N1 coilovers?
Im planning on purchasing my suspension in the next couple of weeks and have been leaning toward the Tein street flex. I enjoyed the quality years ago on my Honda and the price is a little higher then back then but i still hear good things.
That being said Apex had some serious co setups but were really higher in price than most. recently i looked into pricing and the n1 is very competitive money wise. I was wondering if they still had the quality build and performance they were known for years ago. My car will be mostly street driven but i do plan on hitting some track days...what are your opinions? both are around 1300 msrp |

I'd be interested in knowing this as well. I had N1's on my Rx7 about 5 years ago and loved them so if anyone has some more recent experience that'd be great.

I'll bump the thread beings that I bought them. The install was one of the most painless I've ever had. The outward appearance of the coilovers was very nice. It was a pleasant change to see the ano'd red as opposed to the black and gold of BC's. I lowered mine all the way before installing them on the car, including removing the locking collars on the fronts. The rears bottomed out in the mount before the collars could get in the way.
Once they were installed and I let the car back on the ground, I was pretty happy with how it sat. It wasn't as slammed as BC Extreme Drops, but it was still plenty low enough to tuck my 225/40/18 tires. The rear was a bit lower than the front, which may be a result of pairing them with my Buddy Club lower control arms. I plan on raising the rear slightly to match the front once everything settles. The ride quality is awesome. I set my dampers at 10 clicks from full soft, and the car feels just a touch more firm than stock. I'm sure with a less than slammed ride height they would offer a very confident feel when tossing it around in corners, but that wasn't my intention. The spring rates were chosen "to be comfortable on American roads" or something like that. They're on the softer side. I would have preferred they be a little stiffer for my application, but again, on a "functional height" car they would probably be very comfortable. I'll try to add to this once I get everything all dialed to my liking in a few weeks, but I thought I'd throw my initial thoughts and opinions out there considering how little has been written about them.
