Oh yea guys. Their insurance is still paying for my rental and fixing the transmission.
I choose this body shop myself. Things will get sorted out on Monday They will start fixing it on Monday... But they can't fix it because they don't know what's wrong... They will show it to a high level Toyota technician.. |

Yes, the shifter not working is an issue with the electrical system in the car. This should be obvious since the car can be put into gear with the mechanical override and drives properly once it is in gear. I severely doubt there is any transmission damage.
Like I said in my post on the last page, it sounds like the shop missed wiring up some of the electrical stuff. Since you said you were not able to shift it right after being hit, it is likely that the wiring connected to the shifter/transmission may have broken from the impact of the accident. I would wait for the Toyota Technician. If you are able to speak to the tech, ask him/her to test ALL electrical systems in the car. It may be more than just the transmission lockout and headlights that aren't working, and worst case scenario the shop will have to replace all or part of the wiring harness. |

Definitely try to talk to the Toyota Tech and have everything tested so you know for sure when you get the car back that there aren't any issues that were missed or overlooked. Good luck! Hope you don't have to wait too much longer. |

On Monday, the body shop will drive my car to a Toyota repair place about 14 miles. How would I talk to the Toyota tech? the body shop told me they will deal with Toyota tech and take care of everythingTldr : repair not finish, I can't drive the car. Hopefully its just a few wire that got undone.. :/ Also, they did test the airbag and confirm they should work. Sucks ass. Last time I drove the car was Jan 18 And the repair date finish is march 13..

You're letting the people that work for you dictate what happens. Stand up for yourself. You should be demanding stuff be done right.

It's not something drastic as a damaged trans or damaged harness
A blown fuse typically for the stop lights will cause this. I occasionally see it from time to time on tacomas |

Hmm. I'll suggest that to them. But there was no electrical overload.. Just a rear end accident. How does that blow a fuse?
