I find BFBC2 a lot more fun than BF3 or 4. Also, prices of high end video cards (GTX 780+ or 290) really suck and seem to be increasing every 2 weeks.

NZXT and maybe another company are making brackets as well to adapt the coolers to your GPUs as well. And I can't remember who, but there's at least one company that offers an AIO solution that's modular so you can add tubing, extra waterblocks, etc.
That's a way of going I suppose. To be honest I don't really need it I just want to learn how to mess with them, just cool to know I guess. I've actually come across a couple water cooling kits that I like just haven't been able to justify purchasing.

Still freaks me out. Maybe i'll give it a shot when it comes time to do a rebuild of some sort. Until then I think fans will do me just fine hopefully.

I liked BF:2142 a lot. Especially Titan mode launching up onto these floating carrier ships. BFBC2 had some pretty sweet maps but most of my friends never play anymore. I mostly play BF3 now but some of the maps kinda get on my nerves. Usually you can find other team mates that will work as a squad and it's not that bad. Other times its just a slaughter and completely unbalanced which sucks.

I also finally got to play Titanfall at a friends house the other day. Overall I liked it, but I can hold out till after I get my FRS. It reminds me a lot of COD both in shooting style and map layout but its not as frustrating. I didn't like that they had AI soldiers mixed into the game and a small amount of players per team. I ended up killing more AI thinking they were other players than anything and that kinda ticked me off a little bit. I'd still get the game at some point though but definitely not blown away by it.

Some time ago (5 years? 8? I don't remember) I had a list of games that I was looking forward to being released and intending to buy. There were something like 8 to 12 games on the list. Now I have just one game on my list Have games become boring? Too similar? Have I just become more discerning (read jaded)? I don't know but it saddens me a little.

No I think you hit the nail on the head. A lot of the games feel the same. But I notice that I find games less appealing now that I've aged a little bit and can go with out them just fine for the most part. The ones I grew up with though I still find way fun. Games like Goldeneye, Killer Instinct, Mario 64, the earlier Zeldas. I think it all has to do with the over all feel of it. Kinda like a car they all feel different therefore you can enjoy some more than others. There's maybe like 2-3 games I actually want now and that's mostly because I haven't tried them yet.

Nope you're just getting old. I don't buy nearly as many games as I used to... unless.. damn you Steam sales!!!!!!!!

But honestly off the top of my head I can think of at least half a dozen I'm looking forward to playing eventually, between my PC and PS4.

Mid-range graphics cards are where its at imo, best price/performance ratio, and most can be overclocked safely as well

Getting older, and most games seem to try to better other games, but in the end its all the same, Diablo style games, just kill stuff for loot, WoW type game, level, pvp, end game, quest, fps are pretty much all the same, etc.

For me I have been playing those for so long, even though newer ones that come out are great fun to play for a month or 2, just cant hold my attention like they used to as I have played them countless hours, as generally the same thing in the end

I still have nostalgia from games like Asheron's Call and Tribes 1/2

Not in the world of 30" 2560x1600 monitors
practically stuck buying 2 of the latest generations high ends in sli or crossfire to run games at decent settings and 60+ fps.

Amen! Steam will be the death of me. I think I have enough games backlogged now to play for the next five years no more time than I do it any more.

On a related note, two of my sons and I have been revisiting Doom 3 through the BFG version recently. We used to play the original all the time together, and its fun now to revisit that with stuff like "Hey, I remember this map" and "remember how Dad used to always camp out here and we'd not find him?"

It's still holds up well as a FPS in my opinion, although I wish they had added teamplay on the redo, ala Halo.

I could see that, although I have no issues on 1920x1080x3 with what is now a mid-range ATI HD7800 series card.

It helps to be about a year or so behind on games too though. I'm too cheap to buy them when they first come out.
